I've stumbled onto this game recently. It's fun, but insanely hard. The Underdogs describes it as "a huge non-linear dungeon hack RPG that features 3D graphics, great sound, and fantastic play in single and/or multiplayer modes." It goes on to call it a roguelike, but it looks that all of the floors are pregenerated. It plays sort of like a roguelike, but instead of the top-down view, you play from your party's perspective. Combat is autonomous, but play can be paused so you can use items or tell your spellcasters to cast spells.

You can create and play as many characters as you want in one game, but may only take up to four with you at one time. Dropping and adding characters is as easy as right-clicking one and telling him/her to join/leave. There are nine races and twelve classes to choose from.

Demise is the sequel to Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol, if you've heard of it.

The home page is here. I'm not sure I like the tiny font, though. My resolution isn't even super big (1280x800) and I can't even read it.

You can either pay $25 ($35 if you have Vista) for a game released in 2000 with few updates (nine years in and three patches, last one released in '03) or get it from the creator of the expansion).
