I once carried a single flare through 5 levels, simply because I was paranoid that I'd run out.

Had an awesome couple of runs lately. I've further reinforced that Giant Yetis are the wimpiest minibosses by killing one with a single rock throw. Threw the rock, hit'em like 10 times, the rock bounced off a wall, hit'em 10 more times... Collision damage HATES these guys.

Also, shotgun pellets can penetrate the Giant Alien's forcefield.

Also, I found out the hard way that kicking or throwing a rock at a Yeti will stun it for MUCH longer than if you shoot it with a pistol, where it'll get up rightaway.

In my quest to further examine the water physics, I jumped to the bottom of a "Rushing Water" level, sans shotgun (which is the only sane way to do it), and bombed some of the tiles at the bottom to see if it would effect the water. It did not.

Magma, however, can be destroyed even if it's container is undamaged.

Throwing the bodies of dead damsels at alien spaceships is the most fun activity in the game, period.

While I am getting good enough to ride mummies with ease and throw rocks with pinpoint accuracy, I've still to see the City of Gold! Damn you game!

Yetis count as humans for sacrificing. A temple to Kali in the third area is awesome.

Also, I found some crazy pointed, gold hat under a head in the third area. I was bombing towards it when I ran into a UFO and got knocked into my bomb blast, so I don't know what it does.

Two yeti's spawned on a Temple to Kali in one game I had, one rock knocked'em both out and BOOM, they're sacrifices in seconds.

Even better, they're were 3 more yetis right next to the altar. It's like Christmas in Spelunky.

The crazy golden hat is where is presumeably indicates where to go to get the Hej or somesuch.

What's annoying is that Kali had given me 4 health right before I hit myself with the bomb.

I hope Derek doesn't screw around with the Kali rewards, it's a way more efficient way to get health than Damsels.

Yes! I finally got the 99 bombs!

I also beat the game for a fourth time in the very run this screenshot was taken, Kali's a pushover when you have 99 bombs and a jetpack.

I'm still trying to get into the City of Gold...

I unlocked the door for gold, and have silver in all the rest.

Does anyone know what it takes to get through that door for the city?

This could also be the cape, which looks a bit like a golden cap.

I have yet to make it without rushing to the ice world, everytime i get there i get mauled by yetis and thrown to my death.

Damn you guys are good at spelunky.. :)

The third world is my favorite world. I'll use the shortcuts to just go there over and over and over and abuse yetis and kill spacemen. Yeti jumping is skill that requires alot of practice and confidence, you'll get there, don't worry.

I've concluded that the Giant Yeti doesn't deserve the title of Miniboss, and is a joke. I can reliably kill one by throwing rocks, and the unconscious bodies of smaller yetis at it. I've also killed a Giant Alien without using bombs, using similar tactics, as the bodies of yetis can pass right through the force field for easy hits, and hitting the top part of the forcefield generator with anything destroys it. Giant Aliens seem to explode on death though, so you want to stay back.

Related: My new goal is to take the golden key for the Udjat Eye to the door to the city of gold and see what happens, or at least take a screenshot and rage.

"What am I supposed to do with the key again?"
