Atleast they have a passive, predictable AI, nothing like the spiders. I've gotten so good at foreseeing the frogs jump paths that I purposefully aim for them when jumping down, so they'll jump into my path and I'll end up landing on their heads.

The explody frogs are nifty things too.

They're especially nifty if there's a large drop that would normally injure you and there happens to be a frog down there. It's inadvertently saved my life a few times.

Indeed. After mastering frogs, they become more of a help than a hindrance. I even mastered climbing the horizontal spike tikis. However, spiders will always be the bane of everybody. As stated earlier, I don't even pick up pots anymore in fear a spider will jump out. I just whip it. Every time. You can never be too careful.

I agree on arrow traps though. You are never prepared for them. Particularly in the fourth area, where they blend in terribly well.

Also, I just rodeoed my first mummy. Let me tell you, much easier than the GCS. And don't go telling me mini-bosses are easy with a gun, we know most of the time you don't have one and you cannot always expect to get them in an area where you will destroy them with a bomb.

Hmmm... I just killed a giant yeti with a shotgun for the first, and it only dropped jewels. No rope or shoes, just jewels. Quite odd.

Maybe it's drops change depending on how you kill it?

I've never had a problem with the mummy. It always seems to get itself stuck in an area that's easily bombable.

To tell the truth, that and the GCS are the only minibosses I've killed. I haven't seen a giant piranha and I've only seen a yeti and alien once or twice. Both have killed me each time.

An interesting discovery: this may or may not have been said, but if you pick up a shotgun in a store and shoot the shopkeeper, you are not chased down by the shopkeepers. This is how my best character came about.

180 deaths, haven't seen the 10th level yet. I almost always start from the beginning, as my ventures in the forests without goods from earlier are short and bloody.

Every time I pick up a shotgun and shoot a shopkeeper, all shopkeepers afterwards shoot at me and there is a shopkeeper guarding the next level's exit waiting to shoot at me. I've done it at least thirty times.

Re mummy, he IS more easily bombable if you get good at timing your bomb blasts (holding like a grenade, instead of pressing the auto-bomb button).

Re shopkeepers, I thought they stopped chasing you after every area, so you were always safe robbing one on the last level of an area?  Need someone to verify that...

This is true.
The question is, how many shop keepers are in the black market?

I finally managed to finish it playing it without any help, didn't even read this thread.

I have to say I never thought of using bombs on the mummy I always just rode them.

Whoa, remind me to stay away from the black market... I don't want those filthy capitalists trying to take back the stuff I liberated from them! :P

Liberated? Your just like the goblin baby snatchers just "freeing" the children.

What the hell is that creature in your avatar that you keep changing anyhow?

What is everyone's favorite item by the way?

Pitching gloves.  Man, I just LOVE not being able to set down an item any more!  Try to drop a damsel or a key or a gun or something and watch as it bounces like three squares into a pit of spikes!
