I came across this little gem after some intensive searching tigsource for something new to play.

Wow, rogue-like IJohnes-like arcade? Seems neat, I'm going to try it.

Wait a second, is this the same Derek Yu that wrote Eternal Daughter, and Aquaria?

If so, this is a must have.  Thanks for the link!

I've played a few levels and I must say it's quite addictive. Also for an arcade it has a very good quality (random levels, various goals, various types of death etc.). I'd like more traps though :).

Ogh, I've just got into another type of dungeon. Looks like there's a lot of traps to discover :).

Wow, this game is great.  It definitely feels like a roguelike, but in a platformer kind of way.  I've been looking for something like this for a while.  Derek has done it again.

I personally like how deadly it is. You run around, masterfully dodging traps and throwing rocks at spiders, when you suddenly are hit by a dart you haven't noticed and you fall in a pit full of snakes... Game over :).

This is one of the few games where the fun level is just high enough to counteract the frustration level. Good job.

Also, GCS in first five levels = RAAAAAAAAGE!

I was playing this game all week! I was surprised that more people had heard of it. Yeah it sort of seems like a cross of NetHack and La-Mulana to me.

Have you tried throwing a bomb at the webbing below it when it spawns? You get two random gems and sticky bombs if you kill it.

I pretty much figured out how to avoid just about all the senarios in the first world(well of course other then the freak accidents)

Second world is HELL though...

This game is evil.

As for GCS, I find it easiest (but not easy, mind you) to just ride it, rodeo style, until it dies.

I haven't gotten far enough to get the money.

I'm wondering, is there some special key I need to press to mount a rope when I'm climbing down?  Lately I've just had to jump off and hope I can grab the rope before I hit the ground.

Weapon stores are easy to rob. Just pick up a pistol or shotgun and shoot the shopkeeper. Shotguns are powerful, but rather slow.

Yeah, I haven't figured that out either.

My one minor complaint about the game is the music.  It's too uplifting for a dark cave setting.  It needs a darker, spookier tone.

Edit: Oh yeah, I would also like the option to be able to enter my name to keep track of individual scores.
