Nope. He is just a nameless protagonist. Don't know what people in the official thread call him. Seems they think of the character as themselves. Works well.

I have yet to pass the first level of the third world. Either I fall to far or get bashed in the face by abanomal snowmen.

the enemies aren't that big of a deal on the third world, it's more of the random world generator being more malicious than it should be. It generates land very sparcely, creating floating islands with slippy ice all around. Sometimes you get stuck with no where safe to jump to, and all you can do is jump down and hope that there's land down their, and if their isn't... TOO BAD!

the UFO's are a bitch too.

I'm sure that their are some items that would make it a great deal easier though.

Well, the third world is really a hit-or-miss area. It is best to enter with a compass, as that will show you which side to go down. Also, be sure to use any extra ropes you have above 3 here.

Also, you can land on the yeti's. They will cushion your fall. The falling platforms also offer protection if you jump off them just above any platforms below. I think springboards also help, but I have yet to test that. Just be sure of the platform you are landing on, and if you see what could be the bottom series of platforms on your sides does not have the exit, go to the other side no matter what.

 Also, spike boots help.

The semi-floors seriously pisses me off through. whenever your standing on one, you start doing the "i'm losing my balance" dance, and if it lasts for a second too long, then whatever your holding gets dropped.

I've lost more than one damsel because of that.

Jetpack. If you can find or steal a jetpack before hitting world 3, your set. Spring boots and climbing gloves can let you climb the side walls if you need to get back up, and a parachute is just overall useful, just try not to land if it deploys. Likewise a cape simply acts like a permanent parachute.

Ustxu Iceraped the Frigid Crystal of Slaughter was a glacier titan. It was the only one of its kind. A gigantic feathered carp composed of crystal glass. It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

I dunno, I find the cape more useful than the jetpack. The jetpack can run out of fuel, the cape cannot.

Oh, that's how you're supposed to do it? I've been jumping about randomly during world 3 and it's been working out so far. Just like to note that I've never bought anything but bombs and the occasional hot shotgun from the stores. I've also never seen a jetpack.

See if you can spot what went wrong.

I hopped on the yeti, threw a rope, and grabbed the idol, but the floor didn't fall. Little did I know that the actual trap was the yeti waking up as I was standing on him and ricocheting me off of the ice wall, onto the spikes.

I've finally managed to buy the shortcut for world 3. Now i can die on level 9 over and over and over and over!

I hate the Yetis too, if only because i can't jump on them. They do provide a good throw to a normally unreachable location if your creative though.

I really like the ingenuity in the idol traps though.

You can kill it with anything. Really, you should try throwing a rock to wake it up and then jumping up and down on top of it until it dies. It nearly always works.

I remember the main character being called Indie a few times.

Also, behind the door in the 4th area lies:

Note, the secret of area 3 only drops loot, no amazing equipment.

Except the Jetpack in the wall behind it.
