Where are my nobles at?

I am playing a normal map, no mods. the dwarves still send me caravans.
It's been 4 years,
I have 167 dwarves
1 million created wealth
350k import
120k export

What happens if I hit popcap before they come?

btw: i have a philospher but nothing else

AFAIK, popcap doesn't affect nobles.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

You need to do multiple different types of jobs in a year. the list is on the wiki.

Thanks that is probably it, my dwarfs have been doing nothing but building my evil tower, and mining for stones. I guess I'll have halt construction for a while.

Ussually I wouldn't complain except in this fort I already build 25 rooms all decorated to the highest standard in anticipation of my nobles.
