Help with new Ore
« on: December 31, 2008, 02:08:16 pm »

The Main Problem is that the stone doesn't appear in the game
another problem is that the test smelter reaction doesn't work.

ok I tried to add in Mithril but it's not appearing and not working  ???
here is the Information:

I am a new very bad modder so I put the Mithril Data in both the stone mineral Matgloss and the metal Matgloss but I am not sure if it should go in both

also how do I make a reaction to actually make the stones so I can test them?
this is what I tried but it didn't work:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

when I tried the reaction it made items that weight 13367 or around there dwarf pounds and called stone. it wasn't stone because when I made a stone stock pile they didn't go into it.

the Mithril is for a mod I am making and version 0.06 (first version) will be released after I get this problem fixed.

May I suggest taking a look at matgloss_stone_mineral.txt?  You don't want the 'raw mithril' as a metal.

Ores are stone types, not metal types.  Move the ore into the stone file, and change the top tag into [MATGLOSS_STONE:RAW_MITHRIL].
I dunno about the other tags, but that should cover it.

I'm not sure but it could have something to do with the tiles of raw mithril and adamantine being the same.

That's definitely not it, you can share tiles and colours amongst a million things and it wouldn't matter at all.

How do you know it's not turning up? It's a rare metal, in a rare biome, that's incredibly expensive.

CLUSTER_SMALL:10 might be screwing you up. It could be too rare for you to ever see, basically.

Check errorlog.txt to make sure you got it all right. And if you're still not finding it, jack up the frequency it'd show up ( for test purpose, I assume  :P ) Clear the data/objects file and regen the world, since that might be the problem, guessing from your reaction problem.
