Dwarven weight

Not sure if this is the exact right subforum but:
How much does 1 dwarf unit of weight weigh? I keep running across gems and daggers that weigh hundreds, while leather bags weigh a lot less...

It works well enough. General Discussion would be good too.

The answer is, "nobody knows, and it isn't possible to know, since weights and volumes and such aren't entirely canonical yet."

However, we do know how much weight a dwarf can carry unencumbered. See
this table, which I calculated soon after 3D came out.

Guess that means I'd get a similar answer when it comes to height/length? Such as the size of a single square or the height of a Z-level?

Yes, the game isn't measured in meters. It can't be since it opted to make a square fit infinite creatures to avoid the cheesy roguelike tactics of pelting a dragon with arrows after blocking it's way with a chicken

This does lead to odd behavior, though. Fifty elephants fit in a space too small to hold as little as a quarter of a workshop or enough water to water a small farm once. Also, a standing kitten can block a corridor such that an adult human can't pass without crawling under the kitten. A literal mountain can be mined out and placed on top of an ordinary table.

Wow what type of rock is that on the bottom? (picks up rock) AHHHHH avalanche.

I just thought about that when I read that.
