Yeah, no shit.  Dry spell...  I've been typing my thesis.  And it has been annoying and distracting, as is my new and evil flamenco guitar...

So are items, but anyway, I'll try to make more regular updates.  Perhaps I'll actually get some things done today.

I think part of the problem was that I wasn't listening to the right music.  On the strength of Ice Cube's Predator and The Dwarves are Young and Good Looking, I finished the item editors and some more item rewrites.  There are a few item rewrites left, and then I have to do models and clothing more or less at the same time, since their mutual annoying traits feed off of each other like popular couples in high school.  Or something.  My mind has been debased by reading these: <shudder>

OMG this is awfull...

Well I think you are right,it is important to listen to the right music when doing creative work.

I like listening to Rammstein while playing the game and maybe its a good thing to listen to when working with the game.

I've listened to Laibach while programming before.  It is quite effective.

I have 46 little rewrites to the item file...  the compiler counts them for me, so I don't have any kind of pathology there or anything, although that's open I guess...  anyway, should finish those tomorrow or the next day.  At that point I'll have to tackle clothing.  Kind of like today, when my zipper broke.  Dammit.

Okay, now that's done.  On to piecing together models and clothing...  I don't know how long that will take, but sometime we'll be having our poor naked people running around in speedos and robes and combat boots.  Maybe even at the same time.

As long as my character gets to wear some kobold vein tissue boots, I'll be happy.

I think the "creature representation" idea I may or may not have posted earlier is going to be the way I end up doing helmets and hats and boots and things.  It needs some tweaking, but I think helmets will base themselves on whatever creature head they are going to fit over, and other similar creature heads too...  I might have to have the helmet morph slightly depending on who's wearing it, but as long as the change isn't too noticable that should be fine.

Of course, saying that a helmet is a "simple creature representation" and saying that a mask of somebody's face is an "advance creature representation" rather than a "helmet" and a "mask" means that the item editors probably aren't going to make much sense.  Again.  Well, the editor shouldn't be as involved as the creature editor, at least not at first.
