Harry uses the arm to shove obstructions out of his way in order to reach the Auger. Seeing as this is a crash site, most of it is busted-up junk anyway. Anything that he cannot move aside he tries to maneuver over, being sure to stand in the seat instead of sitting down. He knows with no suspension, this thing will rattle his bones apart. Hell, even with suspension it would do that.

Action: I hear an air leak. Find and seal air leak using bandages from medical supplies, large flat peices of metal, a large medical tool or anything else that could do the job.

Questions to Aqizzar for later:
How long can a person be outside on mars without air? Say I wanted to go do something outside of our shelter and then come back in.
Does the medical bay have windows?
How big is the medical bay? Closet, more than one room?
What is a medical station? Fancy scifi medical table with robot arms?

"As we've fixed some of the air leaks, let's have a quick two-minute discussion.
Serg, I'm going to suggest that you keep looking for the rest of those air leaks.  We've got enough air for the moment, but if we're going to survive for a lot longer, we need a sealed compartment.
Rosie, I think you should probably stop worrying about those black boxes.  If something got out, which is incredibly unlikely, it's too late to do anything about it.  We'll deal with that later.  I think it's best if you try to fix some of the broken water pipes on the inside.  Water isn't quite as important as air, but it's still high on the list.  Serg, if you can't find any more air leaks, I would really appreciate it if you could help Rosie.
On that note too, I'll don a pressure suit and head outside with some of that equipment to look for water leaks in the hull.  They'll be a lot easier to spot out there as we can see them, whereas air leaks are easier to spot in here, due to the sound they make.  I'll do my best to seal any I find.
Any objections?  If not, then let's get to work."

After that conversation, I put on a pressure suit, take some of the patching material with me, and head outside.  The, I search for water leaks and patch them.

Damn! Okay now I gotta drag myself back to the tarantula cage  :'(
You don't have to take my word for it.  You've always got options, and I tried to think of a few for you.  That said, the tarantula cage is one of them if you want to stay with that.  Also, it's not a big room, you're not crawling too much.

He'll leave everything except air and additional morphine in the construction section and fight through any pain. You do know how strong morphine is, right? Strife will ignore his arm for a while.
Yeah, I know what morphine is.  I loved the stuff - instant nap button.  I was thinking it more like the little morphine-shooters combat medic use, but it would be impairing yes.  That's why it was an option.

How long can a person be outside on mars without air? Say I wanted to go do something outside of our shelter and then come back in.
The air outside is about -60 Celsius (-75 F), as radioactive as the Van Allen belt, and has less than 1% of the air-pressure, on top of being unbreathable.  At that pressure, holding your breath would make your lungs burst, so you'd have to follow the depressure rule of letting your air out and surviving on the oxygen in your blood.  Provided you survived the initial shock of stepping outside (temperature mostly), you'd have maybe a minute of two before being turned into frozen jerky.  So, just possible.
Does the medical bay have windows?
I'm going to say yes, the medical bay has a few little windows.
How big is the medical bay? Closet, more than one room?
Slightly larger than a bus, about 15x40 feet, divided into one big operating room and two small chambers.
What is a medical station? Fancy scifi medical table with robot arms?
Not too science ficitony, but robotic assisted yes.  A hospital bed with all the gizmos and beeping things that you'd expect.  And no, it's not mobile.

That's what I was thinking, except you apparently changed your numbers while I was typing this.  12x24x24 feet is the rough floorspace you have.  All the tanks, system lines, girders and such make the whole module about 30ft cubed.

Well, dang it. Just my luck to land in the middle of a garbage dump. Guess we really fell apart there. Hm, I've got me some air, and it seems to be staying where it is... which is nice.

... now, the computer here is another matter. Seems to be running emergency power. That's my only window to the world right now, wouldn't want to lose it. Hey, aren't these drones running on solar panels?

Sean rummages through the spare parts and broken robots, trying to assemble a solar battery array (at least quadruple of what is normally present on a drone) and fix it to a working drone. Hopefully the toolkit has at least a portable soldering iron...

But... space isn't cold, is it? Wouldn't you need to have some form of matter to lose your heat to for it to be cold?

You're not in space.  You're on Mars, which has air.  Really cold air.

Ummm.... Sulphur next? :P
Also, I was under the impression Simon was in a lot worse situation than he actually is, but now I have no idea what to do next. So he'll do something nice and simple - do an inventory check of his module to see what there is he can actually use, especially in relation to patching up the air and water leaks.

I believed Simon had crashed to Mars in a just larger than man sized terrarrium, which was why I was using the mud. Must have missed the module part. Not that I'm complaining, mind you :P

Since we have little other entertainment, let's theoretize on the possible methods of terraforming Mars! I propose a manned mission to the planet's core, using state-of-the-art barely-obtainable technologies, that would deliver a series of powerful nukes and place them around the central core, then detonate them in sequence to restart the planetary dynamo! Hm, now why does this sound familiar?... :P

But really, without the magnetic field solar winds will wear down any atmosphere we could hope to build up.

I wonder, since such overarching goals require many years, and we go by a maximum of... 1 day per 2-3-4 days? Yeah, this might take a while. :D

Just a question I can't be bothered looking up on Wikipedia, so I'll put it to you guys.
Mars is the red planet because of rust on the surface, right? Rust is just oxidised iron. So, if there is so much iron, why no magnetic field?
Also, is there a way to de-oxidise the iron to get a source of building material?

Bah, of course it will work! You have Bru-I mean, Harry! Yeah, Harry Stamper! No way you can loose when you give this guy nukes! Not really any formal skill, but all plans that involve him and nukes go horribly wrong but still somehow succeed with half the crew dead.

That's just until the emergencies die down.
Once a semi-permanent base is up and running, to include semi-replenishing food/water/air supplies, I imagine the turns could be a month at a time, or more.

Argon! Iron! They're not next, but they ARE my favorite two elements.

It reminds me of a program I had to write for school. Save a list of elements in an array and print back every other one. I made them all Argon. Good times.

Nukes always work!
