Reconsidering the wisdom of giving myself a head rush in this condition, I begin taking an actual, useful inventory of what I have. And organizing it like I have severe OCD, just to pass time.

"FUCK! THIS! SHIT!"

It was not a suitable greeting to a fellow survivor. However, those words were the first that reached the unknown operator, before Andrzej realized he is being heard again.

"Jesus Christ, who's there?", he shouted to the microphone, "Hello? I have a rover, but I'm stuck in the debris! Do you have a pressure suit? I need someone with a pressure suit 'cause I just can't move that goddamn piece of junk!"

He needed to relax. He definitely needed to relax before even touching the controls again. Unfortunately, he knew no other way to cal himself down than to share his misery with the others. So he begun to explain the unknown voice what does he think about this expedition, the command, the ship systems and its manufacturers, NASA and everybody involved. With first three sentences he used up most profane words he knew, so the rest of his tirade was a bit repetitive. He tried to switch to Polish, but it was not so satisfying when no one could comprehend. So he begun to swear in English again. In the end, he slammed the controls and stormed out of the control room.

In the meantime, another solution begun to form in his subconcioussness. It reached the surface just when he declared that the captain is an idiot and should die a gruesome death along with the guy who did the navigation part. Standard procedures didn't achieve much, but perhaps some more subtle maneuvering will do. He just had to override the thing's safeguards, especially this stupid part of code which turned off the engine when he was about to collide with the pile of debris. If everything else fails, he was about to ram his way through the junk.

Simon, at a loss for what to do, decides to feed the insects, still listening on the radio for another (preferably non-expletive shouting) human being.

I'll try and see if I can direct anyone to help the people that are worse off.
Since I can communicate with some of the group I'll try to find out what people know about the surrounding terrain.
If at all possible I will try to get people with suits to get to higher ground and gather more information about their immediate surroundings, who knows some people might be closer to each other than they think.
The observation pod should be visible from a distance I would think or at least its antenna should be since it is extended now.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"Qwerty, good to see you made it off the ship in one peice! I thought I'd never see you again. We have enough water, a couple air tanks and some food. Your spacesuit radio work? Maybe we can see who else made it and talk to them."

I'm gonna wait for Tetsuo and Augusta to leave, before scrounging around and collecting as much container-like materials as possible. Time to find out if a fishbowl really will make a space helmet.

OK, so Vernon's outside. I rig up the door system using the parts we've found, hopefully with Geoffrey's help. What we really need to start working on is air purifiers and that equipment.

By the way, what kind of food does NASA normally keep in an engineering section?

What I really think we need soon is to get one of the suit radios running. Can we set them to act as a desk radio, so we don't have to wear the suit?

Yes! People are still alive! I was right! Ok, now to figure out how to get to them, we don't have very much in the way of transport, we do have air and food though, so that means people should come to us... Ok, we need to prioritise. Those nanites and the research can wait for now, I need to take stock of the food, oxygen and water supplies, the generator (reactor?) won't last long without fuel, so conservation everywhere! Only nessiscary systems must stay active. Radio, lifesupport and UV lights for the plants.

Work with serg and vlad to fix the radio if possible, contact as many survivors and tell them that we have enough supplies for a few days (or how ever long it'll be).
Then, if I'm stuck for ideas, try to get the safe boxes open.

I thought that was mostly done- you just need to attach a handle to the rotor and you have the basics. A modestly skilled engineering student could wire the transformer in very little time, a electrical engineering expert astronaut should have no trouble.

It said nothing about it in the master list, but now you mention it I see what you mean.

Oh how I wish my character had a mechanic around. Sure he would have to know some to work the industry he's in, but I doubt he would be able to repair all this future-tech machinery.
