ugh. i hate cheating.

i was hoping i could fix it without using Dwarf Companion.

how is that cheating? You're fixing a bug. Use DC to fix it, delete DC. No cheating need take place.

Yeah, it's silly to call it cheating.  All it does is make them stop floating, so they can fall to the ground and THEN get killed by your soldiers.

i know this is probably answered somewhere else, but i can't find anything.

Dwarf Companion isn't loading creatures other than dwarves.

EDIT: does that not occur to you that it's a problem?

If you post actual information, you're more likely to get help.  Did you press the "show all creatures" toggle thinger?

yes. it's kind of hard to scroll down when there isn't enough dwarves to scroll down to.

Are you running the original 40d or one of the re-releases?  The memory offsets might be screwed up in the re-releases.

i don't know, i just followed the instructions for installation on the wiki page when i knew of it's existance.

EDIT: yeah, i'm sorry about not adding info. i thought someone would recognise the problem instantly and point me in the right direction.

It's kind of important whether you're running 40d or not.  The 40dX versions will definitely cause problems with DC.  You can always download a copy of the original 40d and load up the save in there.

If you're already running 40d, I don't know what's wrong.

i was running 40d when using DC, but have now switched over to the 40dX's when hearing of it's existance.
i've started to ignore him now; he's now just a tree i can't cut down. besides, he's spore breeding with my caged Xelic swordsmaster and now have 10 Violet Xelic larvae.

EDIT: shit, i wish it was working now. i accidently set the breeding pit's hatch cover to "passable" and are now rampaging through my stockpiles. i thought they had grown tired of bloodlust after the endless stream of animals i was "feeding" them.

FYI, i'm using the Dark Dwarves from the Wiki's modding guide. will painstakingly changing all of my Dark Dwarves into normal dwarves do any difference?
