I just thought I'd try another challenge in the new version for old times sake. This time it's angel of light travel.

Before him 2 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
1 of those was killed.
Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 1 souls claim to have killed him...
1 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.

Very fun, and a VERY close call at the end. I chose to use a tanky shotty buildy punctuated with MAotD, which would help with the limited inventory by giving me a single useful weapon to focus on. It was close though, very close. To give you a brief idea of what happened: I had gone through the mortuary thinking I coud skip it with a homing phase device. I went to the bottom right exit and I thought "Ba humbug, I want the nuclear BFG. Sneaking up along the wall to the northeast exit shouldn't be too hard..." only to be ambushed by some archviles and everything else that I didn't know were waiting for me. So I didn't get the health OR armor I thought I would, and I took quite a fair bit of damage. After ditching level 23 for the lava pits, and then skipping it completely because I never intend to complete the lava pits, I find myself on level 24, starting in a room... right smack dab in the middle of the level... and the arch-hordes are already upon me. A FLOOD of arachnotrons and cacodemons flood in through the door as a desperately try to shoot them off. I had recently received a pounded by some horribly ill-placed enemies, I was literally trapped in a room with the entire horde of an entire level trying to squeeze through the one door, and I had just used my one and only phased device in the mortuary, and my medkits weren't going to pull me out of this trouble if I tried to slog through the horde, and I was running much too low on ammo, so I couldn't fight them as I needed to save some for Cybie... so I had to improvise. I shot a magma barrel convenienty positioned in the corner of the room, blasting out the back of it. I run through several squares of lava rather than face the enemies, and doing this I manage to sneak out with a good chunk of my health remaining. Heading to a safe corner of the level to regroup, to find something that might help me as I wasn't sure if my current supplies could hold up to fighting Cybie, I find a miracle: an invulnerability globe right next to the last stairway! I take off my armor, grab it, and I head down, with Cybie spawning within my sight radius! I run up to him and just start blasting him at point blank range, and it must have taken twenty shots, but just as my invulnerability was wearing off, I deal the killing blow to Cybie and I win. Great fun.
The new exotics system is sort of a downer though, as they're SUPPOSED to be more common, but I can barely find any. It's like Exotics are the new uniques, and uniques are ultra-rare now. It's distressing.
