shotguns!

the only game i've played that had shotguns in it where they weren't my favorite weapon: Halo. I've never been big on doom's (or doomrl's) double shotgun, but the combat shotgun (modded with whatever's available) is the best.

New Run! Got to level 23!

I was tired of dieing on Hard so I went on Easy and see how far I got, well I got pretty far to level 23!  I only had three more to go.  I found a nuke on level 19ish and was going to use it on the CyberDemon, but I ran into trouble.  Level 22 had a Arch-Vile, but I took it down.  Next level, well....I started next to two arch-viles and a few M's and R's and I was brought to 16% health and only killed one arch-vile.  So I dropped my nuke and died shortly afterward.  Then the nuke blew them all sky-ward.

I don't know, I got lucky on that run and found a Missle Launcher which is devastating to the enemy.  Think of a powerful rocket launcher with a 4/4 clip!

Ah, yes: the "artifact" RL. Not as nice as the railgun, but still nice.

I found some PhaseShift Armor too, but it didn't work well with my guy.  The armor kept getting almost destroyed.

Phaseshift? Haven't seen that. I've gotten the Necroarmor a few times, though. That's a treat.

The rocket launcher's got good damage (even if you don't automatically kill something, it gets pushed back nicely), alright accuracy (if you're worried about missing, just aim at a nearby wall), and the speed of firing is unremarkable.  However, you have to reload after every shot, and that takes time.  I say that cutting down on the reloading time would be your primary concern.

Otherwise, stock up on damage to make the most of each (rare) shot.

Although I never went to The Wall, I would think you would make a choke-point with the rocket launcher, then take out a chaingun or something and start killing them one by one!   ;D

Even on easy, those hell knights take 2 or 3 rockets before going down, and there were 10 all spread out, doing 30% damage every turn...maybe I just got unlucky.


Breaking through the top would definitely be better - there would be a smaller gap for them to go through and less of them to deal with at a time.
