The Jackal works with with Gun Kata, I've never seen it on runs where I actually CAN use it though...

It should, but I got shafted major on the run where I found it on level 2.

H'm. Last run was somewhat Monty Hall compared to most of mine. Missile Launcher, Jackhammer, AdvTechPack, Gothic Boots, some other unique that I blew up without identifying. Angel Armor, too, not that that counts.

Most of that was useless to me since I was doing AoSh, but the Jackhammer made it all worthwhile...

No nukes, though.

Throw knives at barrels, just remember to stay far away enough from the explosion.
Use your two large medkits.

Though I can't get past level 5 either :p.

If you just came down the stairs, and assuming they are both sergeants, they are easy as pie. You have like a 5 turn window before they do anything.

He has a shotgun, so its not AoB. AoB is actually rather easy, just nearly impossible to beat. Gather combat knives and every medkit you can, and keep a knife prepped in the offhand to throw. I "think" you might be able to use juggler to dual wield, but I haven't tested that yet.

They are former privates or whatever, and yes, I just splattered them across the walls in two shots.  It was a lot of fun.

I almost had a heart attack when I popped up next to them though.

The absolute best start to the lower levels is popping next to an Archvile with a full loaded double shotgun, with a double prepped. That just means you have one less AV to deal with.

Should I keep my chaingun when I already have badass, going for shottyman, a combat shotgun, a rocket launcher, and enough shells, rockets and power packs to last a lifetime?

Uh, for surviving AoB:  Make sure you run on a very regular basis, and pick your fights way more than the other modes.  Four former humans, including one sergeant, in a wide open room = oh just stay out of that room.  See if you can lure them to a door with a corner where you can pick them off, but, yeah...
