Makes sense, i noticed it took me a bit less shots to kill hell knights and barons than usual, so it may really work (maybe it was because i was shooting former humans and imps a lot that do not wear armor, i may not then have noticed a difference).

But i somehow felt that it wasn't the best master trait choice in order to survive, probably because i didnt have the most damaging shotgun (tactical shotgun having only as much damage as normal shotgun, the difference is that you don't need to reload often as it houses 6 shells).

It seems at some point the music just stopped working.

I have absolutely no idea why. Sounds work fine, but simply no music. It didnt work in 0.9.9.4 either, even though it worked a while ago.

EDIT: Switched over to mp3 music files. I dont get why midi wouldnt work...

Well 0.9.9.6 is out and I think it's the most accessible roguelike I've ever played. Proper mouse support and tiles, not just tiles but proper Doom tiles.

I absolutely LOVE it.

Could someone give me a player file with all of the challenges unlocked? I had them all unlocked previously, but I lost them when I had to format.

Wow, just wow i'm even more impressed by the graphics in front of me than i was when i saw them in the videos.
It's an incredible and superb facelift DoomRL just got with 0.9.9.6

Should get even more players coming to what is the most excellent of all the coffee breaker rogue like.
Fabulous job in how those visuals have been implemented.

And you can even play with the mouse instead of the keyboard for moving around and shoot, pickup items, go to inventory, amazing rework of that interface, it feels so polished it's amazing.
 
First Dwarf Fortress got a great update and now DoomRL, i wonder if i will ever play anything else this year.

edit : i'm having more fun than ever with DoomRL, and it was already a game i liked a lot.
Just go fetch this new version and play, then spread the word.

I'm not sure how I feel about the new graphical version. I mean, it's actually clearer than the console version, amazingly. It's easier to distinguish medkits from the floor now,especially when the floor is bloody, which is great. But on the other hand, console supremacy. Oh man, such a hard decision.

Did I share my Ao100 win here yet? Well, I won Angel of 100 on HNTR last version (0995). Turns out, malicious blades gives you a lot of resists.

So, discovered the game a while ago, and have been loving it.

I got my third win (all on NTH though) and it was on Angel of Max Carnage.

Oh god it was so fun (and even easier then regular NTH with my build) some random highlights:
With badass three, I killed even barons of hell with a single round of my hyperblaster. With badass 4, every single shot had knockback, so if all my shots hit (which is pretty hard since they need to be in a straight line with me or they knockback them and some of them miss), they get knocked back 6 spaces.
I did 236 damage per second (assuming 0 armor, and them managing to survive 3 rounds from me)!
I killed John in 5 shots (without bothering to use my numerous BFG's), shooting through his wall of summons in a single shot.
