Should be fixed in d6, one way or another.

hello everyone I was searching the forums when I found this at the top so I decided to download it as it seems that many people are getting a big boost in FPS so I downloaded it and tried to run Dwarf Fortress and it asked me if I wanted full screen I said no (but its the exact same thing if I say I want full screen) this is the error I got:
it's called Tileset not found and the message is:
Mot Found: data/art/curses_640x300.bmp but it is there
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
And here is the error:

This is why everyone should turn off "Hide extensions of known file types" in their Windows settings.

Also, note that the init.txt file is case-sensitive.  curses_640x300.bmp is NOT the same as curses_640x300.BMP.

But yeah, replace the .bmp with .png

I'll try again when that's out, then.  How long do you expect?

Toady's sleep schedule's unpredictable at best. It's possible, though unlikely, he'll have it up in the next hour or two. If not, my guess would be tomorrow. Possibly the day after.

Then again, I have absolutely no basis to make those claims, so you might want to take them with an ocean of salt.

I've put 40d6 up.  Hopefully it works, because I have to sleep now, after I pay rent.

That was quick.  I'd expected days, not minutes.

Partial Print is enabled and set to 0.
GFPS is 10.
FPS cap is 100.
The OpenGL extension viewer claims my card does support GL_EXT_framebuffer_object.

On menus, you can tell it's working. The FPS stays pegged at the cap and it seems to keep on trying to go over almost all the time. I copied over my save from last time, and when I actually get onto a map the FPS seems arbitrarily capped at 60, my screen's refresh rate. Pausing it causes it to act the same as a menu. Is there any reason for the arbitrary screen-refresh-rate cap?

EDIT:
Well, I genned a new world and upped my FPS Cap to 1000 and embarked on a desert. It seems to be sticking around between 160, which is still faster then I've ever seen them move.

So nevermind, I think it was just a coincidence.

linux d6:
I embarked on a somewhat larger than default area.  30-40 FPS with and without PP.  Regularly slowed to a halt while some dwarf thought about something, probably pathfinding.

Xgamer, try changing the gfps and fps cap around a little to be sure the problem is maintained.

Yep, I think the early post was just an amusing coincidence. I'll just edit this into my above post.
