Go go Newegg! Newegg is rather keen. I'd recommend them over Tiger Direct.

I woulda gone with an Nvidia chipset, myself; also, I don't think you need any more than 4 GB of ram; also also, your processor choice should be just fine. You ABSOLUTELY need a PCI-e graphics card, though: go with one of ATI's 4800 cards or Nvidia's 8600's, 8800's, or 9600's.

So got the nvidea ge8400 everything is up and running beautifully!  Little trouble getting my 1394 ethernet to work but finally got it, the only problem is i cant get my sound to work ARRRRRRRRRRGH this motherboard has onboard sound i beleive, i downloaded the drivers but i just cant get it to work any ideas?

Hrm. Recheck the drivers? I mean, the motherboard should've come with a driver CD with the proper sound and ethernet drivers.

Also, 1394 isn't ethernet, it's firewire which is basically a sort of USB equivalent, as I recall.

Apparently the issue was with xp sp3 and realtek not being compatible, I have found a hotfix and everything works great!


1st test largest embark size availeable,  i get just over 100 fps steady!!!!!  Not that this size map would be playeable for long i suspect hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
