Also, I think it might be a good policy to limit all expansions to up to 1 additional tile on all edges (like Devath did.) You could just add 1 tile to the north and south, or just to the east, but only 1 tile/side/full turn
It helps it stay managable (look at DTS1 for a look at how quickly it gets foolishly large), but still expands quickly enough that there's no real reason to worry about running out of room if someone expands every dozen or more turns.

Between the invalid tiles, and the IMO, overdone amount of expansion, I'm going to take my turn on Devath's map.

I suppose a formalized expansion rule would be three tiles in any direction then?

Empty tiles inside a mountain that hasn't been exposed = invalid tiles... didn't think there was anything confusing about it. (hopes the pointers help explain the problem)

All right, it's obvious that this game needs more rules. I'll develop some more detailed rules when DTS3 comes around; for now, just assume a dwarf has the tools necessary for his profession and nothing more.
