Time Served
« on: December 15, 2008, 05:12:16 pm »

Hi all, I was playing around in the game a little today and I ended up "Doing Time" quite a few times and I thought it'd be cool to have a readout on a characters profile saying how long they've spent inside the corrupt conservative prisons. It'd be even cooler if it took into account whether a character broke out of prison before their sentence was up, I don't see that bit being a problem as we can check how long characters have remaining of their sentence.

Any feedback of this idea would be great.

Thanks.

I support. It'd be useful, too. As in, if I wanna see how long my convicted founder has been in for while my hippies run the show.

This might work quite well as part of a history for each character. This might include such things as:

  • Total length of time served in prison
  • Time spent awaiting trial
  • Number of times broken out of jail/station
  • Number of times arrested
  • Number of times convicted
  • Conservatives slain
  • Number of times wounded
  • Funds raised(by sales, donations, fencing stolen goods etc)
  • Animals released
  • Time spent in civil disobedience/community service/graffiti etc
  • Number of websites hacked/harrassed
  • Cars stolen
  • Items stolen
  • Interrogations preformed
  • Conservatives enlightened
  • Total individuals recruited
  • etc

Some of these are already at least partially kept track of for your rapsheet.

I'd also like to know what my characters are accused of by the police, perhaps a police sleeper could provide this info at the end of the month.  At least, it should be fairly obvious if a character was a wanted criminal.

i think that a wanted criminal tag is a must.

maybe levels like this:
not wanted
low level wanted (civil disobedience/community service/graffiti etc)
mid (theft, assault, breaking and entering, resisting arrest etc)
high(killing,weapon crimes etc)
FBI most wanted(the same as high, just to show that there that hard, maybe 10+ kills? )

the wanted level change how many cop are sent to get you and if the army/agents are called for.

low level, just 1 or 2 cop useing batons
mid level, 2 to 5 cop with guns
high level 2 to 5 swat guys
FBI,5 to 20 agents ,risk of geting a chase from any move?

maybe the wanted level of every one in a base shoud change what type and number of troops come to a raid.
(i just think of that squad of 50+ kill guys shoud get a lot attacking it than a group of hippes selling drugs)

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

I just thought of something!

Currently, you page down to see a sheet of max stats on your character.  Wouldn't it be cool if you could page down again to see a list of crimes?

I'm ok with a clear showing of a character's outstanding crimes, with the understanding that in the future it will be limited by intelligence (or something, probably Law, kinda like how opinion polls are accurate based on intelligence and computer) and police contacts.

If that happens, I'd like to see the CCS and Conservative Police Officers attempt to frame you for crimes you didn't commit, and have that on your track record. If only to lessen the feeling of guilt I feel for using a sleeper lawyer to clean my rap sheet every time the Founder gets arrested on charges of mass murder.

Frame?

You mean like in the game when one of the CCS kills a hostage you're carrying and your squad gets blamed?

Don't worry, the current "features" will take care of framing liberals just fine.

Besides, if your leader keeps getting acquitted, why not just kill more people?  That'll teach em.

How many conservatives can you kill, and still get your slate cleaned?

This would be nice. The propensity of the police to do so would be based on how strict police regulation is; they probably shouldn't be able to once it gets above Moderate.

CCS framing should be able to happen at any level, though I suspect it would be more likely to "take" when police regulation is in the red (due to both transparency and accountability on behalf of the police making it harder to frame people, and having more sympathetic officers investigating). However, the LCS should be able to return the favor, something like "Go forth to a site undercover as CCS". Disguise levels and things like the number of CCS tags you paint while on-site should factor into your success. Police regulation should be less of a factor except maybe towards C+, as the L-end of the spectrum would have more regulation to help cancel out Liberal sympathies.

Sleeper cops should have a chance like sleeper judges to get assigned to and thus influence the investigation for any framings.

If the cops and the CCS can frame the liberals for crimes, shouldn't sleeper cops also be able to lose an occasional charge?
