After watching the preview video, I'm definitely looking forward to this release. There's some issues that need to be ironed out still, but I like the lack of friendly fire. Although, I have to think that now the best defense is a bunker built purely out of dudes, since all your bullets will pass through them and the enemy's won't.

And it was a bit strange to hear him talk about how he wanted the game to be about careful tactical decisions on what soldiers and weapons to deploy and then have him use the same preset smg guys for every attack.

He was only half awake (and lacking in gold) according to the start of the video, Karlito.

Huh... according to that video, brains are soon to be a finite resource too, which you can steal from other factions. Intriguing.

Loving the new update too. It's a ton more tactical now, despite the slightly less zany BS. Also, the fact that "Crab Rocket" is now a preset for Ronin is... words cannot describe my joy.
Should we expect the return of the Cortex Command streamstuffs whenever you can do that next, Soli?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I actually don't quite like the "Limited brains" idea.

I would have actually prefered it if saving the brain is genuinly beneficial. A limited number of brains actually limits the game time.

I think finite brains are meant to be a Win Condition, so it makes sense that they limit game time.. He's only been vague about it, though.

Also, I'd love to do more Cortex, but I don't have a co-streamer handy, and it isn't quite so fun alone.

The only thing that doesn't make me want to buy it is the lack of multiplayer. It really is what could have made the game in my mind.

Note: I already know how to get around that limitation...

Actually it does have split-screen multiplayer, and all you need is to get some of your real-life friends and preferably a few gamepads like the older days. Just to point that out.

It really isn't something I think is a great boon to this game. Especially when it is a strategy game (also it is kinda funny since this is a game that makes use of the Fog of War)

Plus I don't think any of my friends are interested. Especially in a game that has this much of a learning curve (Note to people here: Friends often don't like playing games with friends who are MUCH better then they are)

...generally you do a coop to teach them, rather than trounce them soundly at the game you're trying to introduce them to.

Also, though online multiplayer would be nice (it'd be great for XBox Live or something) I like the old-fashioned living room multiplayer feel of Cortex Command. Behold all the fun you could be having.

Heck, I'd settle for local multiplayer if lag is too big a concern. I've grown so comfortable with mouse+keyboard that I'd probably have a hard time switching to a gamepad.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

It's on the devlog, and twitter. I figure they just need to build and test before we see it ...
