War is brewing indeed.

Mainiac, you'll find yourself short a few units and a transport.  Admittedly, I can't actually find any of Palazzo's units now, nor where your forces that attacked him are.  But you were warned, so punitive measures had to be taken.  I have of course limited that effort to Malignatus, but don't think that your aggression has gone unnoticed.

Let us all be civilized.

What the hell?  I didn't touch his noble.

Just so I have a good idea of the situation, how much stronger is Aqizzar's forces compared to everyone elses?

Debatable.  I've got a pretty mighty army scattered over a couple planets, but mainiac has me outmatched in space forces.  His economy could probably build more units, but I think I'm currently in the lead on that, disregarding all the useless Militia and Siege units (crappy tech level 1 stuff).

Must I lie?  Your military power threatens to destabilize the entire galaxy, and I have the forces to curtail that.  M, Palazzo, and myself are all concerned by your complete domination of such a broad swath of planets, and this new little spat between you and Palazzo now involves the irreplaceable foundation of the Noble houses themselves.

Remember, this was only a punitive action.  I have intention of carrying violence any further.

((Also, I was bored, and you were wide open.  This was probably a bad rationale.))

As I mentioned at length, I did not put Il Palazzo's nobles in peril at any point.  I went to great lengths to avoid accidental damage to them in fact.  As for destabilizing...

This action is highly alarming to say the least.  It appears to be a deliberate provocation.  It hardly encourages me to make conciliatory actions.

Every once in a while I have to admit that Freud is awesome.
Also this part of the game is going to be interesting. Computers aren't smart enough to gang up against a rising threat, but with other human players...

On the Noble tangent, I just realized a while ago Nobles are Water movement type in Nova, which explains a few things. My excuse is that I've never bothered to move them from their Palace the whole game.

I believe you mean wheel type.

I need to stop posting as I seem to be doing a good job of making myself look stupid.
I kinda assumed W was the type originally given to Submarines, while other sea units got N. I had a good reason to think that at the time, really I did.

Stupidity is ignorance leaving the body.  So long as you don't allow the same ignorance to grow back afresh, it's a good thing.

Kejardon: the Nova-guys decided to use the freed(after other changes) "wheel" type of movement to make noble hunting more interesting. If you check reference charts on Nova web page,
http://website.lineone.net/~rwein/nova/unit2-3.htm
you'll notice that nobles, officers, spies, assasins(and doppelgangers, of course) have been given this movement type, which in turn was altered to be vulnerable only to close/psych. Now, should you e.g. attack a stack with an assasin, the shady bugger will be immune to all attacks until the "close" phase, when he will specifically target all units with ranks 6-9(also reserved for these special units). Nobles being rank 7, means that they'll get targetted first, unless there are doppelgangers in stack(rank 6).
As you can see, inventive, minute alterations to rather rigid combat system made the whole assasination arc quite interesting.

THAT'S MY HITLER!
You just need to tick off Decados to become an universally hated persona. Good job.

The al-Malik expeditionary detachement moves to Malignatus space with an intention of removing any possible threats to our stranded noble.

turn done.

The Decados are honest mercenaries. So we would have to be bribed to join in the war.

We honour every contract as long as: our gain is greater compared to that of the contract giver, applicable any time.
