It's done.

My informers tell me two interesting things:
One. Li Halan's score graph took a sudden dive a couple of years after equally mysterious and steep rise. We all try our hardest to attribute this to something else but Pancreator's just decision to put them back in line, but to no avail.
Two, which is much more important and troubling. We are deeply concerned due to news of House Hawkwood's recent aquirement of sixth scepter. Our magnificent plans of maintaining peace through keeping balance of power lies in ruin. I'm telling you, dark times are approaching.

What can I say, I got overzealous.  I'm not sure I could even see that scepter before.  Well, that's what y'all get for fighting each other instead of beating up on the AI.

And yeah, what the hell happened to the Li Halan score?

Ok everybody, here's the idea: let's commit about three hours of tommorow towards playing EOFS.
The main point is that we should all be available during this time, for receiving and sending turns or diplomacy. It does not mean that we have to stay glued to the screen all this time. Mind you, if we should manage to do just three, maybe five turns, it'd be good enough and would speed up our game considerably.
Well then, is noon (US central time) good for everybody?

Nope, I'm going to be out of town from tomorrow morning until Monday night.  Came up kind of fast.

So... I went from having 6k firebirds at the end of last turn, to having 600 at the start of this turn... bit of a difference there.  Is there a secret 4k charge for voting or something?

No, but there is a 500 firebird per turn maintenance cost for every lab you run.  That's part of why I'm a bit behind technologically.

I believe he does not run 8 labs, and was just trying to be a smart ass by suggesting that he bribed somebody for votes.
Anyway, Aqizzar, the "house" screen shows me that you've got the most cash of us all, so why not invest in another lab?

Because engineers take four turns to build and I don't know how to plan ahead.

No worries, we're doing a turn every two days, more or less. It's not bad.

And I'm doing my best to keep it moving, but I just can't get this damn program to run anymore.  Every time I start eofs.exe it gets more obstinate, and today it's just not working at all.

Hmmm, perhaps it can be solved somehow? Care to tell me what are the symptoms and what system are you running?

Basically, every time I start the program, it tries to run the intro movies, and I have to click through a "disk not found" message exactly 43 times.  When it finally gets through that, it's supposed to be at the main menu.  Sometimes it's just a black screen, and I have to hit the taskmanager and try again.

Anyway, it worked on the third time for no apparent reason.  Done and sent.
