Well, at least you're funny
...looking!
Not as much as you are, apparently.

Recently, I googled "emperor of the fading suns pics", and the ugly faces of our avatars came up. I guess we're the last ones on the whole internet who still play this game.

Yep, there's Cartman, Ben, and the guy with a tarantula.  Wow, that's spooky.  Someday, someone making a game archive site might try searching those terms are will be confused as hell.

Not one of those links goes to a site with any activity, just abadonware and greyware sites, ancient non-functional webring pages, and long dead MU* hosts.

The graveyards of the Internet are scary places.

You could almost say the memory of the games glory is fading.

The Imperial eye brings you the first version of the map:

Dark colors = planets claimed by the house
Light colors = planets with cities, but not claimed (colonies)

Turn done.

Whoops, forgot.

Say, I know it's bad form to make deals with the Computer Fool (not that that's stopped a couple of you), but what's the position on accepting deals the Computer offers?

As long as the deal isn't illegal for some other reason (i.e. you giving money or maps you don't have), I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

Eh, I turned it down anyway.  All I would have gained was some money, and it could have potentially made the Computer a real pain in the ass in the near future.

Speaking of money, I've got like 40,000 firebirds now and no pressing need for them.  Any suggestions on what to do with them?

I've got some technologies you can buy.

But I've come to realize that excess cash really has no purpose once you can generate enough resources to turn taxation off.  The only thing you can do with it is buy from the League, and I'm loathe to do so because I'm afraid of the Leaguemeister declaring himself Emperor.

But you have 40000 firebirds?  Man, the House ranker only gives you two ticks on money for that.  What kind of cash did the developers expect people to have?

I think I read somewhere that if the League declares 3rd republic you can buy peace from them for like 100k.  But I've never had a single player game go long enough for that to happen.

I think I'll pass on your offer to sell technology.  None of the techs you have seem particularly useful to me.  Maybe I'd shell out a few hundred for the terrain bonus, but I don't think I need the rest.

I already agreed to your other offer and sent the turn to Palazzo.  I made a new deal too, I guess you won't accept it anyway.

Dark tidings from the world of Malignatius.  Rebellious scum have uncovered the dreaded plague once thought eradicated.  They are in possession of a dastardly bomb meant to inflict this scourge upon the innocent.  Let the pancreator steel us against this abomination.  It should be known that the Pancreator's righteous servants will slay these foul witches and salt the very earth upon which they stand.

As Master of the Fleet, I am hereby imposing a quarantine upon Malignatus.  To make certain that the dreaded plague cannot spread to other worlds, no transports shall land upon or leave Malignatus, effective until it can be proven that the infection has been eradicated.  To facilitate this, all Imperial battleships stand ready to bombard rebel strongholds and any infected holdouts.
