Re: EOFS PBEM - Turn 34. Decados in turmoil.

I kinda got sidetracked from that.  I was thinking of getting back into it today.  At this point, I've worked out an outline that lets me make the various mechanics within the framework of the game and started making templates of units, (figuring it will be easier to edit the unit files in one chunk.)

Shouldn't this go in forum games?

Hell if I know. I thought that there might be more response from potential players here.

I don't want to see this end but I wouldn't be a very good choice to take over. I only played the game for about an hour and just kind of got confused how the econ was supposed to work. Hope you guys fine a new player.

I second Taniec. I'm not a good choice to take over, but I really want this game to continue.

Well, both Il Palazzo and I are intimately concerned with the ongoing state of Decados so you would find no shortage of other players willing to offer advice.

Fine economic micro management might not be strictly neccessary to take over Decados right now.  I don't know for certain, but the notion I have is that Decados's biggest strengths right now are their diplomatic position (third party in the ongoing Li Halan/al-Malik feud) and military strength (commander of the fleet, me and Il have been wearing each other down while Decados hasn't taken any losses.)  A Decados player shouldn't have much trouble leveraging their position into economic assistance in any problems they have.  I can't speak for Il Palazzo, but Li Halan would certainly be willing to offer great economic assistance to any player wise enough to align themselves with us.

Uh, oh. mainiac, let's wait with bribing Decados until we'll actually get somebody to takover.
I myself, would like to see some experienced player take the spot. Mostly because neophites tend to get easily dominated(diplomatically) by others, as they lack the experience to judge real viability/worth of any possible threat/gift. They also might find the game not exactly what they thought it'd be and decide to leave.(However, I must say, the constant coups d'etat happening there are very much in line with Decados' roleplay-image)

Is this the end? No sensible players willing to join us out there?

I've PM'd the three people who expressed interest in joining during the last coup de Decados. No response so far.

Why doesn't anyone wanna play this?

Look, it's 40K without being stuck up it's own ass!

You get Space Marines and everything, they even really fight in space!

There's evil bug dudes trying to eat the galaxy, and it's always one player's job to stop them!

Il Palazzo and Mainiac are crazy, and you get to screw around with their intrigue and stuff!  I got elected Regent and kept it by convincing them to all vote against each other!

C'mon, somebody play it.  We'll do it ourselves without you!

It's also like Dune, only you're not stuck on a single planet.

There are giant planet-to-space cannons like in the Empire strikes back to screw with invading forces.

There's also the red-coated Inquisition that everybody expects(when it's due)

Mainiac is crazy and you get to free the galaxy of his tyranny.

Aqizzar is a shifty opportunist that will sell you out the turn after he strikes a deal with you.

Come hither and join us, damnit.

It's also like Machivelian politics!

There's a delicate power play of wits and deception.

Imperial offices, wealth and military power are all pieces to be manipulated to strengthen your own hand.

Il Palazzo is a mad dog who upsets the galactic peace.

Aquizzer meddles from the distance, stirring the pot for his own advantage.

And Decados is right in the middle of the whole darn thing!  Someone needs to fill that spot!

Looks like no takers to join in.  Maybe we could attract a new game where newbies are welcome and given a handicap? (like the extra income house trait.)

How about somebody just take the extra spot and commit suicide in turn 1?
