I'm looking forward to this game continuing, so I hosted the file here.  Please don't share it too much though.

Yay. The story of treachery and deceit is back. Now if only I could remember where I stand.

You were about to throw nuclear bombs at all the other players, remember?

I do remember something. But they are not nuclear.

Is this in any way still a valid statement, or should we officially close the game, and perhaps discuss all the delusional plans for galactic domination we've had?
Personally, I think I'd support the second option, despite all the fun I had playing with you guys.

To be honest, I kind of got sick of the game.  I kept finally winning an ally over to my side, then they would drop out and be replaced by a new player hostile towards me.  Quite Sisyphusian.

I mean every player except Pnx launched a sneak attack on me.  All y'all.  Il Palazzo launched like 3 and Boski launched one the first turn he joined the game with a fleet I had been instrumental in giving him.  Looking back, I think that's why I ended up getting so PO'd.  After so many betreyals, cheating didn't seem all that far out.

The biggest question I have concerning this game is why, Il Palazzo, you were never interested in cooperating with me.  Pancreator knows I tried.

Biggest complaint besides the backstabbing is that this game is micromanagement hell.

A thought occurred to me.  The mechanics of this game are a little weak, but the way the players interact is priceless.  It might be really cool if we could remake it as a forum based game.  Does anyone else think that would be cool?

I guess we should finish this thing then. Everybody will agree that mainiac was such an itegral part of the game, that without him it'd lose too much flavour. Aqizzar might get a bit pissed off, as "the shit just got interesting", though. Or maybe he doesn't really care?
Mlittle probably is ok playing the other EFS game, and won't cry too much.

To be honest, I recall convincing Pnx to switch sides and attack you, just a turn before he decided to quit(or maybe he just wanted me to think that, who knows?)
Spoiler: hate (click to show/hide)

forum game: I'm not sure how it could possibly work. Perhaps because I don't play forum games at all.

Good God Palazzo, you're still keeping track of all that stuff?

Anyway, yeah I wrote this game off for the graveyard way way back when.  There were all kinds of things wrong, not least being that one player was an easily bribed AI and the other kept changing hands between schizophrenics.  Micromanagement was getting to be too much of a bitch, and I kind of ran into that problem where it looked like there was no way I could "win" and kinda lost heart.

But it was a lot of fun guys, and thanks again to everyone who played along for the long trip down memory lane.

Interesting thing about Pnx.  He declared war on me, but never fought me.  The troops he sent to Criticorum just took control of a farm that I vacated for him and then became tourists.

I think you are also heavily overestimating the invasion of Kish.  That was way in the start of the game.  The reason you were able to capture so many farms was because I didn't want to waste a bunch of metal getting my guns bombarded from space and pulled them out ahead of time.  Pnx had more troops on Criticorum then you ever had on Kish and he was just there for appearances.

My fatal error was probably starting the third war and taking the potshot at your noble.  That was overreaching and I probably should have waited another election.  On the other hand, I didn't know what the diplomatic picture would look like that far in the future.

Damn, it is strange that I can remember this shit so well after a year. Strange, as in depressing strange, I guess.

Anyway, mainiac, I still think that you couldn't have been able to stop the stack of heavy infantry I was assemblying on Kish. They would've reached your palace in some four years(damn, they were slow) and I really don't see how could you stop them from taking all the scepters. Unless you had some crazy strong secret troops hidden somewhere out there.
On the other hand, should I pull thois off, I'd probably become a sole target of hate from other houses, so this victory could turn out to be quite phyrric. There's no way I could stop Decados and Hawkwood, aided by your off-homeworld forces.
So yeah. In the end, bad idea.

I don't know, the micromanagement never really bothered me that much. Other things, though... the lack of fifth player was the most game breaking. It seems that the missing fifth leg of the galactic stool was the main case of lack of it's stability.
