To The Owner of DF Paint: Two Suggestions
« on: December 14, 2008, 12:10:02 am »

I have a terrible memory, and as such have forgotten to whom I should accredit the creation of the java tool DF Paint.

However, if said fellow is around and about, I would like to offer two suggestions for this program;

1. Keyboard control and/or area-painting similar to Fortress mode, to facilitate ease of use when drawing fortress designs/etc.

2. A grid option.

That is all. Thank you.

He might be more likely to notice it if you posted that in his DFPaint thread:

Korora is the creator of DFPaint but he was no longer maintaining it so he released the source and I am now (very slowly) working on the next version.

Ad.1. I don't fully understand. You mean moving the cursor with arrow keys, and resizing the painting area with UMHK keys?

Ad.2. I am not sure about the grid. It would be easy to implement, but tiles are quite small and with the grid you would hardly see anything.
In the next version you will see a green reclangle around the painted tile, isn't it enough?
