Do you expect EVERYTHING to explain itself to you? It's satire. The fact that the game claims it's a liberal political movement instead of a sociopathic terrorist group is half the point.

I think he just phrased himself badly. If I'm not mistaken he meant 'What are you talking about? The game oozes irony and clearly shows that the LCS is a terrorist organization, not a truly liberal organization'

Even if the LCS is not terroristic, in the sense that they are not using "terror" for political purposes, they usually still commit crimes. Freeing animals, sabatoge, graffti, brainwashing, and leaking acquiring documents are all criminal activities, and the LCS is, in fact, a Crime Squad. Even Liberal Disobiedence can net you some felonies.

I have heard that it is possible to win the game just by writing, so I'll need to test to see if merely recruiting writers and having fundraisers to pay for the Liberal Guardian would change society. I highly doubt it though. Without special issues (and the crimes needed to get them), your Liberal Guardian would never be able to counteract Conservative Media bias.

(EDIT: I just realized that it might be okay to 'leak' documents, but you still need to acquire those documents, either using sleepers, hacking, or outright robery. I'm sure all those things are criminal activities.)

IIRC, the liberal guardian is equal to conservative media in power with a high skilled liberal.  This would fight them to a standstill, but you would need something else to push public opinion towards liberalism.

I'll then use community service then to do the push. Safest and most legal method there is.

The main problem is managing recruits to ensure you have as much men as possible...while ensuring that at the same time, you don't die due to old age. Should I use an earlier version of LCS that had the "infinite sweatshop workers" cheat? On second thought, nope. Hiring illegal aliens is also a criminal activity.

If you had multiple people writing for the Liberal Guardian, would that be enough of a push, or does that not make a difference? ???

I think the more you have, the more they equalize the conservative media. On their own they are pretty powerless in 'shifting' the country, but if you perform on-site actions, you can get massive PR points.

Just finished a 30-year Liberalization with 0 crimes committed. I recruited 6 sleepers, seduced 5 more, let them recruit as many as they pleased (total recruits numbered 74 in 2037; 2 died of old age), then sold art and tee shirts with my lonely founder 'til I could afford a printing press to start the Guardian. In retrospect, I suspect I could have stuck to letters to the editor, but the Guardian might have sped things up very slightly or helped protect me early on when the country was leaning Arch-Conservative.

To my mild amusement, I passed 3 or 4 Elite Liberal Amendments, because we had a Liberal President re-elected when the Congress completely flipped, so he kept replacing retiring LE Justices with Liberal ones.

Oh, it wasn't easy. At one point maybe 3-5 years in the House was C+, the Senate barely holding onto C, the Pres C, and all the issues split between C and C+ except lonely moderate Free Speech.

It was like any successful run under the current model. Tough early on, but once you clear a certain critical mass, almost inevitable so long as you keep doing what you're doing, and at the very end the good was the enemy of the perfect. Only difference was that I took 2-3 times as long as a violent run, and spent all my time holding down "w" for 30 days then mucking about in the sleeper screen instead of hitting "w" once then mucking about on-site every day.  :P

Hard to say. I suspect not, but maybe. It's been a while since I've done a full game with normal violence levels. I'm not sure I've played one to completion since before the L-to-L+ Congressional bug was fixed a version or two ago, so the last "normal" game I finished took longer from both a real-time and in-game perspective. I will say it was probably more tedious, though, because there was very little variety in what I was doing. But that's relative.
