Artist's Interpretation (MSpaint) of Engravings
« on: December 12, 2008, 05:48:52 am »

This was inspired by the picture in the extra trader races thread, so kudos to that. I was thinking what the pictures would actually look like, so I tried one myself. But I suck at paint, so I'm hoping you all can do better.

The engraving shows a Dwarf and an Elf. The Dwarf is striking down the Elf. This refers to the slaughter at GENERIC DWARF CIVILIZATION

yeah, but your square wouldnt be ART.

look at that!  well proportioned, but rugged.  its rough lines but identifyable angles evoke images of the eternal struggle between immaculate geometry and the temptations of decadant non-conformity.

I think we should all take a moment to appreciate Ryo's representation of the masterpiece Abanibel.

This is an off-topic note, but as an artist (I do sculpture irl), minimalist bullshit like that makes me want to commit murder.

(p.s. I did the pixel art in the trader races thread, go me)

This is a masterfully designed image of a red pixel by an unknown creature.

Strictly speaking, it's more than just a simple red square (also, they didn't really have "pixels" in 1913). I just did a bit of googlin' to figure out what the hell the painting is all about, and if you get past all the art critics' zany pretentious interpreting, there might be something there (the title is a hint).

It's a peasant woman stuck inside a red box?

Erm, one could argue that a self-proclaimed artist who does not know Malevich can't be much of an artist ... *cough*
