Congratulations Mr. duck, you have just been recognized by TIG source. Well done.

 Relevant link.

Yep i sure was. I kinda knew since i was emailing with the guy posting it and i made that quote in the article :)

Haha! Good stuff. Captain, perhaps you should talk to Toady...this thread should be moved to the general discussion, and it should be stickied imo...but if you prefer to have it in this subforum, that's ok also, it's your call, but it must be stickied!  :)

I dont know if it should be moved to general, thats more of a question for the mods of this forum.

Anyway, i got a new set of mirrors, and downloadable files thanks to AArmstrongDotOrg from the Internet Archive:

http://www.archive.org/details/Dwarf_Fortress_Video_Tutorials

You can also download all the videos from there for even higher quality. The cinepack versions seem to be the best for reading the text.

I'm pretty sure Toady is the only person that polices and moderates the forums, so "mods" isn't exactly accurate.

Oh, i would have expected more mods on a official forum. Oh well

Also, someone on SA pointed out that video 2 and 8 arent in the internetarchive links. Im on fixing that already.

Hooray!  Hopefully it will be put up in downloadable format, too, along with the missing #2 and #8. :)

I made an account just to say thanks for these videos.  I've read these forums quite a bit, but never had a reason to post.  Your accent is fine, and I'd much rather hear you speak than some American or Brit.  I hope that you fully complete all of the videos, really.

Thanks again!  :D

Edit:  Ahh, 2 and 8 have been updated in the Cinepack format on the website, which I use... so great! :)

Update time:

Part 18: In this episode ill explain about making leather items including bags, waterskins, backpacks and quivers, but also wells.

Now most of the workshops are done. Not much left of my original list. Nobles will be the next episode, and rerouting water will be soon to. After that there isn't much left.

Hey captain_duck,

Just a quick note of thanks for the videos.

I've been wanting to try this game ever since the write up over on Gamasutra last February, and thanks to you, I'm 4 years into my first fortress!
