[40d] Caravans From Fallen Parent Civ
« on: December 10, 2008, 08:32:12 pm »

I'm playing a world I generated where both of the dwarven civilizations have fallen, and there are no more mountainhomes.  Any ideas why I'm still getting caravans?

For the same reason that you still found 7 dwarves to start the game with.  What I want to know is what the caravans are bringing you...

The caravans are bringing Dwarves, ofcourse!

Wait till history happens during fort mode!  Your outpost becomes the last one left!

Can you still request goods?

Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Maybe there's some migrants hanging out somewhere, or they occupied a ruin or something?  Where's the caravan coming from?  It should tell you when the caravan arrives, and it says "A caravan from X has arrived."

Says it from a Dwarven Civilization, specifically my parent civ, which was the dwarf civs I could choose.  When all the dwarven civs have fallen you get the option of just one, IIRC.  There are 58 dwarves left in the world, but they're all part of goblin civs, so they shouldn't be sending me caravans.  I dunno...

Your caravans and migrants are being secretly funded by an underground resistance movement attempting to overthrow their goblin oppressors.

Yup, I've been playing too much Half-Life. ;D

Oh, you still use this funny avatar I've made :).

This is just a "placeholder", until the interaction with the world is more developed, and not a bug.

In legends mode when you dump out the data, there's a file that lists civilizations and their leaders.  Have you checked to make absolutely sure they're all leaderless?

Both the dwarven civilizations that have existed have fallen.  There are no mountainhomes, only ruins of them.
