Making Time Speed Up

Title confusing, no? Well, its OK. My titles aren't the best in the business, but you don't come to a topic for the title, right? Anyways, in dwarf mode forum, there was an elf that was... pretty badass (oxymoron, eh?) and the idea came up if you killed that elf, what would happen to 1050, where all the dwarves, elves, and I believe humans are all dead? So, an idea came up. What if, when you abandon a fortress, you could speed up the history to go to... say... 50 years or 100 years or 1000 years after? It would basically be like the history part of world gen, you could specify a year you want it to end and it would do its magic and go on. Would this even be feasible?
Oh, and while I'm talking about this, I always hated it when I was searching for a site and it simply gave me the first one that met my criteria. And then it kept on going. When searching for a site, it should zoom to the sites that met your citeria and allow you to choose whichever one you want.

Personally, I can't wait for doctors to get possessed and start surgically attaching axes to champion soldier's arms.
And neither can I...

It would be nice to let worldgen continue after the world is finished. Not sure how feasible it is, but it's a great idea.

Would require some of the army stuff like worldgen wars continuing during play, so the game would know where to pick up.

I think the problem will solve itself when non-player town become developed in normal way, civ's expanding and building more colonies on their own, as well as player being able to build cities in DF mode and leave them to develop on their own (I'm not sure but right now if you abandon your 100 dwarf fortress it really becomes abandoned even tho it's far more fit for survival than those lame human villages)
