The amulet of resist mutation wasn't even completely effective from what i remember as i often ended with a few nasty mutations when dealing with an Orb of Fire despite wearing the amulet.

I'm not sure which other kind of monsters are part of the "rare threats" , i remember some nasty and demons in Abyss playing at "i'll give you a couple more mutations every minutes" game

90% protection, I think. I agree it needs changing, since its basically the only amulet you can even wear in certain branches[Including most of extended], in case you get malmutated the same turn something comes into view. But taking away the best source of rMut without doing anything else to mitigate the reason you NEED rMut is incredibly dumb.

Yeah, this would be kinda like taking away preservation without actually eliminating item destro. I've got enough faith in the devs to not completely fuck it up, but I hope they have an idea in mind for how they want to handle it.

If (bad) mutations become less rare due to the removal of resistance to it that was available to any specie/class combo, assuming you were lucky to find an amulet (as finding one was never guaranteed to start with), maybe making ways to remove mutations should be less rare too, like potion of cure mutation to be more common finding ?

They could make mutations take time to "settle" and give you a cheaper/free way to purge them before then.  Kinda like how teleporting works now.  Albiet for a different reason.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

In any case, it'd probably turn Zin from a temporary thing before switching to TSO to an actually viable god.

I find Zin is actually the strongest extended god, because he gives a lot better defensive options than TSO, removes the need for amulet of rMut, and gives you a relatively powerful offensive AOE ability in Recite.

Fair point. Admittedly I've yet to even manage a three-rune ascension (though I've come close a couple times!), let alone consider the extended game.

Zin is cool. He's great for clearing out the tomb, stops a lot of death curses and turning half the advancing mummies into salt with a recite is just awesome.

My problem with zin is that it takes a lot of effort to get to that point mentioned in the post above me. Before that, the most impressive thing you'll get is a recite that might occasionally blind an orc priest and wizard, possibly a smite as well.

Because of how you gain piety with Zin, they're an excellent god to switch to late-mid game. Donating half of your gold 1-2 times at that stage will easily take you to ******, and its not like you're doing anything much with that money anyways. Recite is neat, but I never remember to use any of his other abilities because of my mania with consumable stuff.

I'm having a lot of fun with the new evocation god Pakellas. Okawaru and Gozag can suck it because all of my halfling artificers have a new favorite deity. It seems like crawl is going through some significant changes and I like it. Might not love every specific change but I like that it's still being worked on and tweaked. The new tiles interface looks a bit cleaner, the skill icons all got replaced. Bunch of new tiles for all kinds of things, phantom mirrors being one of the nicest ones I've found so far.

Amulets of dismissal and pain are really neat additions. Haven't braved the amulet of pain yet but I'm going to try it on a blaster. One update made amulets of regeneration rot you upon removal but no longer. Now they just don't work unless you're at full health at some point while wearing them. I believe amulets of resist mutation were removed and that's pretty fun.

Apparently the amulet of pain increases the amount of damage you do and take. Not sure by how much yet. Amulet of dismissal acts like the dispersal spell, teleporting away creatures that harm you 10% of the time. When you swap it on it gives you the vertigo status for a few turns which lowers accuracy, EV, and spell success. While I probably wouldn't wear it on a low int fighter I've found it useful on casters and stabbers. So far it hasn't saved me from anything I could have avoided myself but I'd like to believe it has helped me recover from stupid mistakes without having to use consumables.

So there are a lot, and I mean a LOT, of out-of-date wiki pages. Most of them have not, in fact, been changed, but they need to be marked as 0.17 anyways. I've been slowly updating some of them, but there's, as I said, a lot of them. So I'd like to ask those of you to take a couple minutes when you get a chance and go over the first few 0.16 articles and compare them to the 0.17 changelog. If it's not changed, please mark it as 0.17 instead (if it is changed, fix it if you know how and what it should be, if not, feel free to leave it be).

For those who don't have wiki-fu, all you need to do to change from an 0.16 article to 0.17 is go to the 'edit' tab (You do need an account for the crawl wik), and change the first line from {{version016}} to {{version017}}; the rest will be handled automatically.

I am currently attempting a pacifist run, which is to say, not killing any monsters that it is possible to spare with Heal Other. Due to the absurdity of this pursuit it is likely going to be a three-rune run only.
