Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Am I ready for Zot? This is the first time I got this far. Was clearing Tomb but the curses were chipping away my resources too fast. I didn't find rMut anywhere, and I have a feeling this might be a problem in Zot. I do have one potion of Cure Mutation, but that's it.

If you're even thinking about doing Tomb, you should find Zot 1-4 fairly easy. Maybe not Zot 5, but pretty much every character needs to be careful there.

My recent experience is that if you can handle Depths, you shouldn't actually have much problem in Zot 1-4.

Holy is not very useful against anything other than demons/undead, so you should probably use another axe against most things and switch to the holy for ancient liches.

Do you have any other source of see invisible? You don't really need the 3rd level of fire resistance, and cold vulnerability can be quite dangerous.

Don't worry too much about mutations from orbs of fire - when you meet them, you're close enough to winning that it shouldn't matter. But carry the potion of cure mut with you and use it if you get anything really bad like teleportitis, berserkitis (if you don't have clarity) or maybe blurry vision.

I would definitely bring the last level of rF, and I'd instead try to find something with rC+ to get rid of the cold vulnerability.

Remember, his shields and AC aren't going to do squat against fire magic, and he's going to have to slowly walk over and murder the fire orbs, which might have another fire orb in sight of them...

AC is effective against fire (and most other elemental spells); 2 levels of rF reduces damage to 33% while 3 levels reduces it to 20%, which isn't actually that big a difference when you have a lot of HP and good AC. The 3rd level is nice, but I'd be much more worried about an ancient lich summoning an ice fiend, or just casting bolt of cold.

Also lots of draconians and gold dragons have cold attacks.

Fire Orbs are pretty much on their own level compared to anything outside the extended lategame.  They make ancient liches look easy IMO.  Even a 1/3rd damage reduction is completely worth it against them.

But yes, going into Zot with rC- is a bad idea too.  There has to be a ring other than Fire that gives rF+ somewhere in his dungeon.

Orbs of Fire are pretty nasty, but at least when I fight them I know what I'm getting into. Ancient Liches tend to be, on average, quite a bit easier to deal with - except when they aren't and suddenly drop you quicker than an orb of fire ever could. That always sucks.

I've been playing CeHu on Android port. Pretty nice but I keep dying around XL 9/DL 7-8. Mostly to hordes of orcs and/or running out of arrows. Any tips?

Pick up a melee weapon or unarmed combat and only use your arrows when you really need to. Worship Trog or Okawaru for ammo gifts.(though actually for bows you should find quite a lot of arrows a bit later when you start meeting lots of enemy centaurs.)

As a centaur, you're faster than many monsters, so you can stay away from many threats relatively easily, eg orc priests.

Try arcane marksmen; use corona to increase the effectiveness of your limited ammo supply.  Later you can use enslavement to kill enemies without any ammo at all.

Use polearms as your backup melee on a centaur, they're just as good at them as they are anything else and it allows ammo-free kiting.

Its actually a huge difference. Without armor it wouldn't be that huge (but still significant), but armor makes it massively important. The reason for this is that the armor reduces the damage before the resistance check.
It's not the difference between taking 16 and 10 damage (from a 50 damage attack), its the difference between taking 10 and 4 damage, or 8 and 2, or 6 and 0.
Now, against weaker opponents 2 pips is enough, as their damage won't be significant anyways (and an average of 0.5 against 0.1 damage isn't very important), but orbs of flame (among other very nasty fire monsters) deal enough damage that the reduction is pretty huge and much greater then implied from a simple 33% to 20% reduction.

Innate Abilities, Weirdness & Mutations

You are too large for most types of armour.
You have tough skin (AC +1).
You are partially covered in molten scales (AC +1).
You are partially covered in rough black scales (AC +4, Dex -1).
You possess an exceptional clarity of mind.

Main problems:

- Great defenses at the cost of wearing a bit meh jewellery
- No haste/cblink found yet
- Low-ish elemental resists

I need to spend some time thinking of how to combine armour and jewellery. I know Gold Dragon armour is considered pants, but wearing it may allow me to shuffle some rings around. With it I have 36 AC 13 EV, and I have 12 scrolls of enchant armour so I could get AC rather high, at the cost of -6 evasion.

There is a nice randart amulet of rMut, but that'll take away my precious Brooch, and lower my defenses. Also it has rC, and if I wear GDA it's redundant. On the other hand I rather love my mutations and would prefer to keep them, so going Zin may be an option.

I was saving my enchant weapon scrolls, but then I bought a +9 giant spiked club for 20g from a Bazaar, and now they're sort of worthless.

Man, after playing 539 DSNe of Chei, I feel so bizarre complaining about having too many options.

ALSO I FOUND THE FUCKING ORANGE CRYSTAL PLATE ON A CHARACTER WHO CANT WEAR IT RATHER THAN THE 3000 PREVIOUS ONES THAT COULD

edit: well f me
