Yeah, based simply on your consumables you probably had a few ways of escaping, or buffing yourself and Killing Dudes. MiMo is really good, retaliatory headbutt is amazing and they have really good apts. Unarmed is actually a bit weaker early game, but quickly becomes insane. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure it gets near Executioner axe levels of damage [or at least some two-hander], with auxiliary attacks having special effects.

You made some weird choices. Makhleb is a nice god, he gives you healing, ranged options and powerful if unreliable summons, but you have 0 Invocations, so you can't use any of it apart from the healing. Greater destruction alone offers you bolts of draining/fire/lightning/iron, and Greater servant can summon Executioners [who are often hostile, but hey]. You have transmutations, but you don't have any spellcasting, which means you'll very quickly starve yourself. You've only been to D:15, but you died in Vaults:2 without checking out Snake and Swamp. You are presumably casting spells, but you're using an amulet of Guardian spirit. You also have no resistances, which is asking for trouble in Vaults. That mottled dragon armour is nice for early game, but you can find decent resistances on ring mails and the like - you have absolutely no magic resistance, so you're about to enter a world of hurt [and boredom] when you eventually meet Louise.

On a monk you really want to get into spellcasting, but on a Minotaur it's actually probably easier to go into ranged weapons. Probably throwing, since you're already using a shield. You have Makhleb who provides great ranged options, but you don't have the skills to use them. So going Okawaru would be a better choice - he gifts armour, so you could fill those empty slots, and his invocations are great combat buffs and will help you fight great threats. Should you go into spellcasting, you might prefer to get some Enchantments first - repel missiles, swiftness, eventually haste - and other utility spells like apportation, blink for emergencies. Transmutations are very powerful, but only boost your offenses. Vampire monks I see 15-runing on CSZO mostly go into hexes and charms, but Minotaurs have a lot worse apts for that. I would also get a few levels of stealth, but that's personal preference I guess - I just like being a bit more able to pick fights.

Other than that, congratulations on your best run! Now go and make even more progress on your next character  :D

My bad, I only just realized vaults difficulty got pretty buffed in 0.12, it used to be a cakewalk until the final floor

Thanks for the advice Graven, just rolled a MfTm that got to the Temple so the question is, What god should I go? was thinking Ash, cause you can be fully bound and still use Transmutations? that or Oka or Trog for the combat buffs, Sif could be good for the books...

Well definitely not Trog, he doesn't particularly appreciate spellcasting  :D

I'll be damned if I know, honestly. I remember people used to recommend Kiku for transmuters, but I've no clear idea why. Sure, you can transition into Necromancy, which is nice, I guess. I'm not sure how Ashenzari plays with melded equipment when shapeshifting. Okawaru is decent since he does give buffs and some equipment, Fedhas might work in the sense that Fedhas always works even if far from optimally, Nemelex is great on anything when you hoard enough Decks of Summoning. Chei is also a choice for 3-5 rune games, but I wouldn't pick him unless I was well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the combo I'm playing.

yeah, the most annoying part early game without god is that you get no books, you really have to make due with what you find. I did not find a book of annihilations in the entire game so I had to use acquirement to actually get one. I thought the no mana regen from sif or vehumet would really be a problem, but the crystal ball of energy is really insanely powerful with high evocation, just carry a staff of channeling to get to 25% of your mana again if the ball does drain your mana. You should only use it with an amulet of clarity though, as the possible confusion can kill you.

I did notice this run however that I probably prefer fire magic over ice. The smite targeting on fire storm REALLY helps, you simply can't use ice storm when you are cornered. The 60% irresistible damage is really good though, it is enough to blast most ice fiends in 2 hits.

I nearly got killed on lvl 18 of a ziggurat. I was unfamiliar with the moth of suppression so I didn't realize it also nullified armour effects. I had no see invisible any more so my mana got drained by ghost moths. This meant I had mana, no evocable items to restore it, no wands (healing), no poison resistance in a hall filled with spiders. The hall also already had no teleport control. I only managed to escape with 20hp thanks to scrolls of fear, fog and a lucky blink. REALLY grateful I spent points on armour, dodging and shield.

Another close call was in pan, where I opened a door only to get tormented 4 times instantly by tormentors and fiends. I instantly casted lichform and control teleported to an area I had already cleared, only to land next to a shadow fiend casting dispel undead on me, one more hit would have finished me off. It was once again blink+fog that saved me. A good weapon as a backup is also essential btw. It is more than a fancy toy while you blast everything with magic. It WILL save your life.

Just to clarify: Fire Storm is 45% irresistible. It's Ice Storm that's 60%.

Yeah I assume that's why he said "though", although it is a bit unclear.

Firestorm being smite-targeted is incredibly good, yes, especially without Vehumet's range extension. Also I agree with getting decent weapon skills - a great deal of my deaths in extended are due to running out of mana on pure spellcasters. Crystal balls of energy are, well, balls. Last time I got intdrained so much with about 20 evocations I had ice storm at two-digit fail rate. On the other hand, the staff of Wucad Mu is amazing, should you be lucky enough to find it.

Yet another promising character, this time a DsMo that got pretty lucky with the mutations (demonic guardian has saved me at least 10 times so far), and claws on a monk? yes please. General advice this time, anything I'm doing wrong? not too sure about the plate I'm wearing even though it's gone well so far, is my skilling right? trying for more invocations but the poor combat apts are making me shy away from putting much exp into anything but armour and UC. Was gonna clear another couple levels of Lair, then go clear Orc, then would Snake or Swamp be easier? I already have rPois, rN+ and rC+ anything else that I would like to have before clearing Snake or Swamp?

Update: Cleared Orc and Lair, should definitely have used Makhleb's abilities more on my MiMo just cleared a vault with about 10 orc knights, 3 sorceror's, a high priest and a warlord + 20-30 grunts with the summoned balrugs and cacodamons :)

Update2: First ever Rune :) Cleared Swamp probably will go Snake next
