How to win labyrinth likenp: Get pencil, draw lines showing the labyrinths pathways as you pass them.

Or use Paint.

Not reliable, since the passages shift. It's usually pretty easy to navigate regardless as long as you remember that labyrinths go from rock to stone to metal.

Though I once actually had an entrance in rock once. Maybe it was just stone. Definitely not metal.

I've never really had difficulty navigating labyrinths, just keep going "deeper", since the dead ends are rarely longer than about 10, 15 tiles (occasionally those dead ends also have 2-3 tile branches themselves). Easy to back track.

The end vault isn't always made of stone, but the walls around it always are.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I've seen various materials, including metal, which is what the parts of the labyrinth closest to the end are anyway.

Playing hill orc Chaos knight. Living like a king getting random meat rations and allies.'

I just know one day I am going to get crushed from above by some bullshit that Xom throws at me, but enjoy it while I can.

I managed to find this game yesterday, and I have to say the Deep Elf Wizard has shown the most success.

One question though: Will casting in random directions or at walls increase my skill, or do I actually have to hit a monster?

And as a followup question: Do my imps count if I use them for target practice?

Another followup question: Do they care?

Also Deep Dwarf necromancer is pretty nice too.

Note: You gain skill by getting pooled XP, then practicing that skill, with either a manual, or by using that skill to say, punch a wall, or heal yourself.

At 1: Casting in a random direction will work, but you'll have to use shift-Z or it'll complain that there is nothing in range. You may also want to use 0 to enter repeat mode, which lets you type in a number from 1 to 9 and then a key chord and then that key chord will be repeated that many times, (it'll stop early if you run out of mana or get any other interupt like hunger or an enemy entering your view)

At 2 and 3: You can attack allies but it won't be more effective then using spells in a random direction. I am pretty sure summons can turn hostile if you attack them, but I never tried. You could test it FOR SCIENCE!

Oh god, I started a (tenth in a row) HeBe with the idea of switching to Ash mid-game and hurling around tornadoes and storms, but I found a freaking GDA on D:5. I haven't been training armor at all, only dodging. Is it worth it to put it on? I have 16 str and 2 armor skill.

edit : oh wait, I need 3x the evasion penalty to minimize the negative effects, right? In that case, count me out x]

re-edit : never mind, killed by a centaur captain on d:8. Life is a struggle as they say.

I did some science before you said that.

To the imps who signed up to be shot at, we've got some good news and some bad news.

Bad news is, we're postponing that test indefinatley.

Good news is, we've got a much better test for you: Fighting an army of angry demons.

So, I've been running mummy summoners recently, and I've got another good one going ("good" here meaning "Has learned Summon Ugly Thing and Recall").

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Now, I was wondering - is it possible to edit the init so that you get one of the stops (ie, you have to press enter to continue, like when you're running out of certain buffs) when you summon something hostile?  It would be really useful in avoiding the odd hits of damage from hostile Ugly Things (otherwise spamming these is a brilliant way to demolish almost anything).

Interesting notes -
Currently, I seem to have lost more friendly monsters than my allies have killed enemies.  Ah well, as long as I'm not with Okawaru.
I have only killed 3 actual enemies (one of them by accident because I thought it was friendly).
My character summary seems to be vulnerable to hostile summons spam.  Hm.

My eternal quest to ascend as a Troll Chaos knight continues, unfortunately.

Maybe your summoning endeavours wouldn't contain so much misfortune if you weren't holding have a +3 +11 antimagic hammer with the name of a god that hates all magic printed on it. It affects you too.

Just a thought.
