I mean... how good are they?

They can't use weapons or armor. Any. At all. No, that doesn't mean they can throw things. They can't. I... I'm not really sure what to do with them. Kinda' neat, but... seriously? Rings as the only source of resist (besides gods, I guess)? That's some serious gimpage going down. They're not even good assassins, since stab damage is crap with unarmed attacks. Maybe one of their mutations makes that work differently? I'unno.

Gonna' give it a few runs and see how it goes, I guess.

You have 9 lives.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Cats should be assassins and enchanters rather than berserkers.

They are going to add CATS as a playable race?

The developers definitedly have a bad case of the stoopid.

I figured that out around the time they completely neutered AC based characters.

How can a kobold wake up, shout, switch weapons AND attack during one spriggan move??  Seriously, all of those things would take far longer for any player.

Cats seems pretty silly.  I mean... berserk cats?

I take it you have never made a house cat angry. They may not be strong, but they will inflict their rage upon you nonetheless!

It's still quite silly though, yes.

Any advice on worshipping Cheibriados?
Especially any tactics regarding ponderous armor.
I'm an sludge elf transmuter by the way.

Don't move during combat unless you really, really have to.

Learn blink.

Learn spider form, make sure spider form wouldn't be encumbered, and use it when you need to escape.

Don't make more armor ponderous then you can support. Pray you get the Hat of Ponderousness from the slug, since its a good artifact with decent bonuses, plus its already ponderous.

Remember that if you get all 5 ponderous, your going to have +15 to stats, so you can forgo pumping str and dex and just go straight int.

If you find armor with resistance you can make it a randart for both the resists and stats. Once its randarted, you can't boost its +
's, but you can do it beforehand.

A full set of ponderous armor will prevent you from losing armor in Slime, and Slouch is fairly effective against slimes. However, its still very dangerous, and I somehow doubt that it would work well against Royal Jelly.

That far I only have a robe and a wizard hat.
No cloaks, gauntlets of boots.

Looks like crawl always finds a way to screw you over on a good run.

Crawl is being nice to me, I rolled a demonspawn berserker of trog and somehow he not only survived the first levels and the lair, but also found the Wrath of Trog and is now plowing through everything using it.

Why? Slouch does extra damage vs fast monsters and the Royal Jelly is faster than a regular player. At full slow speed, I would expect to be able to three-shot the Royal Jelly. You'd probably also clear out the hoard of jellies the Royal Jelly spawns, too. Lemme go run some tests.

I just did some quick tests.

At lvl 15 with 15 to all skills and max piety and ponderous armor, it took about 5-6 shots to drop the royal jelly. Most of its followers went down in 2-3 with a couple death jellies lasting about 4-5. You could probably improve that by chugging a slow potion as well. Still, I'd be careful. You pretty much can't run from that sort of fight at that point.

That's about what I got. I was testing at 10 skill, though, but it took about the same amount of time. I was far more interested in the massive amount of damage I was taking from being slow next to TRJ, but I digress. It was effective at clearing out all of the spawns.
