Hmm... I need some advice. I'm playing a Dark Elf Reaver right now, and I just ran into my first bazaar ever on D:12. I entered and started looking around; there are some nice things like mottled dragon armour and even the Book of Annihilations. Unfortunately, I don't have enough money for those. What I do have enough money for is a A Crystal Ball of Seeing + Assorted scrolls & potions(Blink, Healing, etc., or forgoing those lesser scrolls for a single Enchant Weapon III) or an artifact ring "Shaolin" that gives +8 Evasion and a pear. The ring is very fancy indeed, but what does the ball of seeing do? I've never seen anything like it, and you know what they say "Knowledge = Power".

Water walking makes clearing the shoals a breeze. All those javelins make great gifts for my followers. I now have 4 warlords and 6 knights. I'm going to try to get the rest of my knights promoted before heading to Zot.

The ring is very fancy indeed, but what does the ball of seeing do? I've never seen anything like it, and you know what they say "Knowledge = Power".

Evocable magic mapping. Don't use it unless you have 10 or higher Evocation skill. Side effects include confusion, feeling stupid, and being drained of MP.

Edit:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The rest of the morgue file..

I entered Zot with 10 orcs and left with only 3. An electric golem killed 2 of my warlords instantly with one attack. The rest got killed in the ensuring battle when I forced my way into the Orb chamber. The ones who survived later died protecting me from various fiends on my way back up the dungeon.

Something i didn't knew, as the wiki does not mention it, while the bot does, but sadly understood after eating 7 chunks in a row while wearing an amulet of the gourmand and being very surprised despite not being hungry to start with that my character not reaching "full".

Quote
The amount of nutrition you get from meat depends on how long youve been wearing the amulet and slowly increases from 0 to full, resetting if you take off the amulet for even one turn. You will receive "satisfaction" type messages indicating how much nutrition you got.The full protection from contaminated meat also takes time to activate.

Very annoying when you have several interesting amulets and so often switch from one to another depending on the situation you are facing.

Oh and noticed that despite it is supposed to do it, the amulet of the gourmand does not protect me anymore from sickness when eating.
Is that something new to 0.7 ?

Read the last part of your quoted section. Sickness protection takes time to ramp up too.

Congrats Dr. Feel.

My mottled draconian level 10 transmuter found a bunch of yaks, bombarded them with potions and then started to chase the poisoned, confused and dying remainders down in spider form.
The last one turned around and killed me, before I could do anything.

That's not how it is supposed to work dammit!

Yeah, it is. The gourmand amulet's really, really useful, until you start running into situations where other amulets contribute to the short-term survival. Then it's not quite as useful.

What I'd like to know, though, is if the gourmand adjustment is based on passed turns or items ate. It'd be a lot easier to switch over to gourmand when the satiation hits full and loiter around a bit, then murder your way to a meal if it was simply turned based, I think. Sickness is a pain; even regen jewelery gets shut down, and stat loss is always an irritant...

According to the bot it's about the amount of time you wear it

Found another artefact, a +3 cloak "Rocasof". Has rF+, Stlth++, and Curse. I'm guessing rF+ is Fire Resistance and Stlth++ is greatly improved stealth, but what does Curse do? It doesn't auto-curse, since I can put it on and take it off at will.

EDIT: Okay, now I'm in a labyrinth... I've found a zombie minotaur that was on an island in a sea of lava, which I killed with magic dart. Levitated over to it, picked up the loot that was lying around... and I'm not sure what to do now. Isn't the exit supposed to be near the minotaur? Or was the zombie minotaur just a decoy?

Curse gives it a chance to re-curse on wearing, iirc. It's either that or randomly in a more general sense... but I'm 99.5% sure it's chance to curse on wearing. Probably the best cloak you'll find for a while, though, unless you've got other artifact cloaks.

Re: Minotaur -- every time I've noticed it, the escape hatch pops up right where the minotaur dies... I'd suggest checking the git stuff, m'self. Looks like one of the exit rooms that pops up with a minotaur zombie, there might be a live one still wandering around or something. Check the loot pile, then try looking around a titch more, I guess.

EDIT: Or rather, there's an exit with a minotaur zombie and a minivault with one. The minivault isn't the exit, so you might need to keep looking.

Regeneration makes you recover from sickness faster.

Curse has a random chance of cursing your equipment. There's always a living minotaur guarding the exit.

Officially addicted to crawl.
Sadly haven't completed any runs, but I've died in the most interesting ways.

Edit: My Name is Ozymandius, King of Kings. Behold my works, ye mighty, and despair.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My only regrets are that I didn't manage to succeed in learning any spells, impress my god, or find some plants for an early unarmed combat training session. Those would have helped a lot there towards the my end.
...And also that I didn't use the blowgun. I could stand to use more missile weapons.

Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

Isn't it Ozymandias?

Also, you dudes should totally try some ogres. They're pretty fun, once you get into playing them.

Okay, yeah. The zombie was just a minivault; I found the real minotaur deeper in. Oddly enough the zombie has better treasure(Well the minotaur had an artefact, but self-cursing platemail is not useful to a caster). The real one did indeed guard the escape hatch.

Now I'm tackling the hive. I don't have poison resistance, so I'm just spamming Mepitic Cloud everywhere. Works exceptionally well; I feel like one of those guys that sprays that medicated smoke into beehives to make the bees sleepy so that can safely collect the honey, except in this case it kills them instead of putting them to sleep; Vehumet demands no less.

Most likely, yes.
I couldn't recall at the time.
