That sort of thing tends to happen when you mix the game files.

Generic 'any suggestions' post!

The critter:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

No runes, yet. Nikola's in the swamps, and the only source of rElec I've found is a non-mace weapon that probably has massive penalties and makes me vulnerable to fire to boot.

So far I've just been kinda' meandering around violently murdering everything, occasionally popping up might or haste when desperate-ish. The closest I've came to death in a while was versus Wayne, I think, who knocked me down to ~20 hp berserked. Last few thacks on him was a crap-shoot. Should have died, but didn't, and on I truck. Latest level had me beat a dragon, ettin, and ice dragon to death in short order.

Just not really sure what to do with 'im next, I guess. Swamp's on the menu when I find a decent source of rElex, and Snake's... there, but I'm worried about the greater nagas (and have to might up to take out anacondas, which is worrying). Continuing to dive the main dungeon sounds kinda' risky, I'unno. Advise, o'wise ones!

For a good time, call
Code: [Select]
imp v imp
Their blinking and regeneration prevent either of them from dying to the puny attacks.  My current pair is heading towards 800 turns of swiping ineffectually, disappearing in clouds of smoke, and throwing long-winded and absurd insults.

...make that 900.

Ugh, just spent 20 mins trying to find where save games are stored on Windows 7. That was a pain in the ass. For someone that doesn't know computers, cheating would be pretty damn hard :P

Yeah. When it just unextracted and played, it was easy, but its just as hard on Vista.

On an unrelated note, I know an amulet of the Gourmand is almost excessive, but it plus ring of sustanence plus troll = never hungry. Thinking of worshipping Nemelex since I have corpses to sacrifice now.

Edit: On an unrelated note. I'm playing Demonspawns right now, and aside from their horrible weakness, I'm confused. What does the Nightstalker mutation do?

Stealth increases and LoS reductions. Note that in Crawl, everything has the same LoS as you, so reducing your LoS also reduces the enemy LoS.

Level 2 reduces LoS by 2 squares, level 3 is -4 squares.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Hmm, that sounds extremely powerful and horribly situational at the same time. Definitely better as an endgame mut then the first one though.

Well now, Toady got me hooked on a new game by mentioning it in one of his updates...   8)

Here's a situation that took me completely by surprise.  Level 4 HERe named Fubar (losing is SO MUCH FUN!).  I was on D:4 and had just killed Dowan, and Duvessa went berzerk next time I ran across her.  On top of that I've got Ijyb and Crazy Yiuf running around on the same level.  Near death, with only 1HP and no MP, I head for the the nearest down stair figuring it's got to be less dangerous, only to land in this!   :o :o  Prince Ribbit, 4 knolls, 3 orcs and a orc wizard!! :o :o

You can't see it, but Sigmund is a few squares to the right out of your line of sight.

Same here. :)

Move upstairs! If you're lucky Ribbit will blink away and the Gnoll will miss you. Narrow escapes with 1hp make you attached to the character you pulled it off  with. Doesn't matter that he will die of carelessness moments later.

So far my biggest problem is Lair:8. It keeps consuming my promising characters. Mostly because the rest of lair is boring and grindy except for the odd hydra attack or a dragon stash. Lair:8 now has Death Yak heard(Yaks on steroids), Elephants and Dire Elephants(do not want).

Man alive, that ONE dire elephant was tough. It was harder to kill than TWO ice dragons. My advice: Run from dire elephants. If you see one, it's time to get off the level.

Fun fact: One of the lair ends have like eight of the things lurking around it, if you poke th'place hard enough. Plus they're incredibly likely to come up behind you when you trigger the buggers. That was a delightful experience my MDFi survived. Crazy lil'bugger can actually kill 'em, but it takes haste+might (Ahaha bai oky piety) to do it.

Alternatively, curare needles. I think I took out the entire pack a couple of games ago with one needle that just refused to break.
