TSO is overpowered, but he doesn't come close to being as broken as Nemelex. Here's a small list of things a Nemelex worshiper can do:

- Worship a good god as a lich (recently fixed).
- Create portals to loot-filled places.
- Clear branch ends with great ease.
- Create a barrier that protects you from almost all attacks.
- Become completely invincibility.

Just decided to start playing the new version. For some reason every message line is preceded by an underscore. It's not game-breaking, but god damn is it annoying.

Can I fix this?

You mean 7.1? I dont get any of that.

I stopped playing the dev version because it crashed continuously when using scrolls.

Got a sweet VpCK of Mahkleb going, but then I found that portal vault with the human fire elementalists. I got 'clever' and dropped all my scrolls so they wouldn't burn up, but then I forgot to pick them back up when I left the vault.  :-[

"HA!  You can't fool me, silly fire elementalists!  I'll vaporize my scrolls so you can't burn them!"

"But-"

If anyone here has played a Spriggan enchanter that far, how did you get into the Vault? I have a level 16 that was chased off by a single animated mace near the entrance since it wasn't impressed by hibernate, confuse, invisible or poison kiting. :P Any tips on getting rid of Deep elf annihilators would be appreciated too. :P

Blast them.  High level summons.  Running really really fast in the other direction.

Blast with what? :P I have level 1 conjurations and they are immune to wands of fire, cold, draining and disintegration, which is all I've got. :P Does any kind of spellcaster need to get conjurations magic to get past a certain point? That would kind of suck. :P I am investing ranks in air to try the airstrike spell but I doubt that will work on the annihilator.  :( Plan C works alright but I need to get into the Vault, past the Deep Elf enchanters or do the last level of the shoals or swamp, I've cleared everything else.

If you've been pumping enchantment, you're probably able to disable the annihilator somehow; it's not got any resistances beyond a pretty high MR score. Hitting it with that intoxication spell would be your prime choice -- confusion, or mephi cloud, various sleeping effects, etc, etc, would be lesser options. Then stab it to death. My personal favorite option would probably be to hit it with dart or something while standing on the stairs up, then go upstairs and come down somewhere else. Just bypass th'bugger. Controlled blinks or teleports work pretty well too, though a random tele'd probably be better for getting somewhere safer on the level.

The annihilator's raw stats:

Conj has a few raw damage (Mystic blast, the crystal spear, its little brother I've forgotten the name of... magic dart, if you're desperate and faster than the weapon) spells which can handle dancing weapons fairly easily. Airstrike'll work fine too; just use magic dart to draw them away one by one. But yeah, iirc, conj is the only thing that's going to do anything about the dancing weapons. Well, you might spam summons at them. There's nothing much in the hall of blades besides weapons, though, so it's not exactly a high priority target for a SpEn.

Well, my last spriggan enchanter stormed the vaults with mephitic cloud, hibernation, and when things got ugly, Nemelex summons. I think I dealt with dancing weapons by either beating the shit out of them in melee or Iskerendun's Mystic Blast.

And don't underestimate beating the shit out of things. I've noticed that spriggans can develop pretty formidable melee capabilities too. They can't use armour, but their affinities for dodging and short blades are so great they can master both without really even trying. And even though they're not that great with shields, they can still use bucklers and learn them eventually. And an elven buckler has very little casting penalty. Magical staves are two-handed weapons, though, so if you're dependent on those, that is of little help.

Also, Nemelex. He's like the easy mode god at the moment. Really easy to build piety for, and the decks of summoning are just insanely useful. Legendary decks often give you things like fifteen yellow wasps or a bonedragon. Or permanently convert enemies. I had a pet dragon! :D

By the way, I died by assaulting the Tomb and getting my ass handed to me by a whole pack of smite-happy sphinxes. Don't go to the Tomb. It's much worse than Crypt.

I've invested a lot of piety in Sif, and while I regret that now, I hate to start over too. :P I'll probably take Okawaru or nemelex next time.

And I'm just trying to get into the vaults, not take on the whole hall of blades. :P There were two animated weapons in front of the stairs and I barely escaped with my life from them. ;P I went back to the elven halls to get some XP to invest in Air magic, since I have the airstrike book in my book of the Sky or maybe air, since the wiki recommended it. It went alright until I met an annihilator surrounded by knights, mage and soldiers. He saw me and woke them all up, then knocked out half my HP with what I assume was the Crystal Spear spell. :P Anyway I'll probably try using airstrike on the blades this evening sometime, I'll let you know if it works. :P

Even better is the money, with transparent walls on the diagonals, and teleport traps on all for cardinal directions.  Auto explore will just keep throwing itself on those traps until it has found them all. It's really funny to watch.

I put travel exclusions on all the traps when I know where they are.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

But then you don't get to watch yourself throw yourself against an impenetrable barrier over and over.
