Incursion rocks! Yeah!

I am very excited about the next versions, as the author has stated that he will begin to work in the overland map. I am assuming this will be somewhat like the ADOM overland map, only better.

In fact, ADOM's sequel, which is currently in development, has many traits that are in Incursion already (god conducts, etc...)

I just got my 3rd Sprint win (this time online). SpEn of Jiyva is pretty fun. In case anyone was wondering: NetTiles still works, but the display is kinda wierd.

Wha, you can play online with tiles? Guide plx.

http://crawl.chaosforge.org/index.php?title=NetTiles

Ogres can hit pretty damn hard. One of them killed my very successful deep dwarf gentleman. I like what they did with the temple, was the forest-y layout added in this version or previous ones?

Trees were added in 0.6.
Just tested net tiles and was surprised to see it working and creating a morgue file of the same version as the stable 0.7.0 release, despite net tiles is supposed to be using 0.6.0.

That's good as it is more readable than the console version for me eyes, but i hope it will be really updated to 0.6.0 for the tournament, as currently the tiles changing into other tiles regularly due to the version differences are not making things easy ;)

'Ware ye who delve too deep into the realm of Zot, for there, guarding the Orb, lurks the ghost of Blyxx the Shatterer, slain by an invisible ancient lich as he was fleeing from the orb's fearsome guardians:

@Dr. Feelgood:  Checking out your Sprint guide now, I've never tried Sprint, so I'm not sure if I should try it out or just stick to regular crawling during the tourney.

Haha, priceless!  You know, that would be the dick move of all dick moves, to set up some incredibly powerful character (preferably spellcaster), and then let yourself die in the orb chamber, there to defend it against all those foolish enough to think they might actually have a chance at snatching the orb!

That'd just be mean.  And also hilarious.

Heh, indeed.  I believe it has been done maliciously, actually.  The Henzell learndb has an entry about an account called "ghostrobin" originally created on CAO to "populate the dungeon with powerful ghosts".

After a series of failed background and race combinations, my new draconian transmuter is doing mighty fine. I bare survived through the first few levels, but now its pretty awesome. He became a gray draconian, making him extra useful in unarmed combat and gaining extra stats, 2 lucky mutation potions later and he got fire breath, flight, blink, slow metabolism and a unique mutation that gave his already spiked tail poison.

Hee, I've been having a surprising bit o'luck myself, with a Sif Mummy Summoner. I've got one running around on the non-server version that's been terribly impressive so far; cleared one of those orc castle things on D:7 -- killed off three knights and a warlord basically by spamming an endless stream of imps at them (According to the chardump, I've had over 200 various imps die on me so far :P). Which is a bit of a feat, considering two of them had holy wrath weapons, heh. That warlord is definitely the biggest thing I've killed with an 9th level character! Just now starting to be able to cast ice beast regularly, too~

Even low level invocation is generally enough to recoup a call imp cast per use, though. Considering the three non-vanilla imps, it's giving me artillery and two flavors of meatshield (One permanent, if level locked, thanks to shadow imps) effectively free. So niice~

I've just stepped into the lair, with two blink frogs waiting for me. Good thing I had a few ice beasts come down the stairs with me... they're zombies now :P EDIT: Yay hydra zombies!

Now's just the figuring out what to do next. I probably needs me translocations, and whatever that fire spell is that generates a single square of flame (that is still in, innit?) would be awesome for summon elemental, I think. Between that and ice beast spam, I'd have pretty decent elemental coverage for a while longer... but I haven't found any other books, at all. Sadness. Still, I think I'll actually clear the lair for the first time in a while. Whee~

EDIT: Or not. Need to increase font size, I guess. Hard to distinguish spiny frog from zombie swarm. Argh. RIP Jack

Sadface, that was an awesome mummy. I think I'll try me a mummy character when this one fails.

Anyway, blade hands is stupidly awesome. I can cut through orc warriors reeeeeally fast using it, nothing other then ghosts can stand more then 5 turns against it, even combat uniques die pretty quick after a evaporated potion of confusion and some blade hand slices.
I'm just going to enter the lair, and I'll cut through yaks like there's no tomorrow. I'm scared of hydras though, I have no means of dealing with them as of now apart from a wand of polymorph, I'll just hope it doesnt backfire spectaculary and create an executioner or something.

protip for vampire transmuters:

potions of blood can turn into fireballs. Use this in a pinch.

Dakk, do you have Ice Form? That doesn't sever heads, and I think hydras are cold blooded, meaning that ice slows them. Sure, going toe-to-toe with the things isn't quite ideal, but it's better than Blade Hands.
