You do realize that this was posted on April 1st?
:)
(But yeah, there is a nettiles NOW. Just not THEN.)

Bleh. It does say at the top in an update that they actually have it now, so it's not a completely worthless link.

I hope one day the devs will give some love to the demigod too,
In their nerfing spree, this character is basically useless.
Not only it feels like playing a human because it has no race ability, just with slightly better stats but it has the immense disadvantage of not being able to get any deity worship and because apparently it was not enough, he is getting even slower experience than nearly everyone else.

One of the less interesting races to play because it is simply not fun, unlike his supposed evil version the hellspawn that has got so many abilities, mutations and other kind of fun advantages that it is always nice games with it
.
I read a few suggestion on how to improve the demigod race, and they're very interesting, would make the demigod really fun to play :
https://crawl.develz.org/wiki/doku.php?id=dcss:brainstorm:species:demigod

I like the idea that they should have their own quasi-religion. They are demi-gods aren't they?

EDIT: Giving them a random religion sounds cool, but would create an annoying meta-gaming side-effect. People would restart until they got their desired religion. Maybe not so bad, but it's something to think about. I personally think having their own religion sounds so much cooler.

Aye, it would be a bit metagamey. I mean, a demigod Artificer of Nemelex would be horrifically overpowered.

Perhaps you don't start with a job, just as a wanderer.

The Devteam won't even listen to the fact that any sane person who plays Draconian will start-scum until they get a color that doesn't suck (read: Not white or red, not green if they worship TSO, not purple if they worship Trog, ect)

Level 7 is not that hard to reach, I am not playing through as a gimped character. Period. Let me pick my draconian color at start. If I want random character redefinition, I'll play demonspawn. What I want is a character who can't wear most armor but gets a cool resistance and breathe weapon. How does the resistance and breathe weapon being random possibly improve either tactical or strategic gameplay? It doesn't.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Or even make it an option. Pick your color, or pick random. Yay, everyone wins.

Would be nice. Mottled is never bad, and I'd like to give Yellow a try due to the acid resistance and quick acid breath.

Same with not giving wizards knives.  It doesn't make it more challenging, it just means that every now and then you have to restart a transmuter or monk because you got a cursed knife.

At least stats aren't random anymore.

Yeah, those don't increase difficulty, merely add YASD, which for the most part Crawl avoids. Heck, if your worried about combat applications, a -4,-4 dull knife would solve that.

I still maintain that no sane person would enter the dungeon without worshiping someone.

I maintain no sane person would enter that deathtrap to begin with.

Yeah... we shouldn't really start making arguments based on consistency.

I mean, what kind of transmuter knows absolutely no methods of transmutation?  Why not learn some in the book he's holding before he goes in?

Simple: it's impossible to learn anything without killing stuff. Obviously.

I maintain that no insane person would enter the dungeon without having slaughtered several dozen villiages.

How hard would be to mod away the knives thing? I mean, one of the code databases must have listed inside what does each class start with, right?

What's so great about the orb anyway?  It doesn't seem to do anything useful, unlike most of the other stuff in the dungeon...
