I love the new Sprint map. It's MUCH more fair and balanced than the first one.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Personally, I find animate skeleton to be a great spell to know. When you butcher, you occasionally leave a skeleton anyway, so why not get a distraction out of it.

It's not worth the slot, IMO. You'll want the other spells before you want raise skeleton. And once you have raise dead, why bother with it? Better keep the slot free in case something nicer falls your way

The only good use i found of those undead raising spells was to create traps for my stairs escape.
Before going down, i lead/raise a few zombies/undead near to me, then i go down.

If i found myself being on very low HP and need to retreat from some monsters i can't get at more than 1 tile away, after getting to those stairs, the zombies waiting on the upper floors are perfect to stop those monsters that would climb up with me, so i can continue to run away to rest while the undeads try to deal with the threat.

But other than that i often found them useless as support for a battle, i noticed they go down very easily, with a few exception like an unique that is raised with his weapons and can sometime put a good fight.

The tournament is creeping ever closer, I still don't have the win I promised and I just removed the "#TEAMCAPTAIN" things from my options.

Anyway, I wonder if we should have a separate thread for the tournament this time, to avoid cluttering this one with "Sure, I'll join" messages, team lineups and team name suggestions. Also, basing on the growth of this thread since last year, we'll have a lot more players this time, probably enough to fill at least three teams.

I'm willing to make the thread and start organizing this thing as it was so much fun last time, but first I'd like to hear if there's good arguments against a new thread.

P.S. I started my first MDFi in a long while, maybe I'll get my win now.

Hurray a tournament! I'm trying to use git, but I'm not sure how to download a specific branch. I've downloaded the master which is at 0.8 now, but I never played 0.7  :-\

I like that new monster list function.

Q27. Can I play Tiles online?
Sadly, no, that’s not possible at the moment. We are planning to change that but so far we haven’t even decided how to go about it, and so it’s still far off.
Arf, no tournament for me then :/

I like the new tiles. I have just noticed that they keep special ones for specific types of monsters (zombie ants, zombie dogs, etc...).

I am having problems in 0.7 invoking wearable items (rings of invisibility, etc), does anyone else have the same problem?

It needs to be updated for 0.7 though.

Dunno if you can use it for the tournament but there is a net tiles version in the works at least. http://crawl.develz.org/wordpress/tiles-server

EDIT: Bah beat me too it. Looks like they do have it up to 0.7 though, http://repo.or.cz/w/crawl/crawl-nettiles.git

You do realize that this was posted on April 1st?
:)
(But yeah, there is a nettiles NOW. Just not THEN.)

Cool. Demonspawn now have "demonic guardian" as a possible mutation. Not really sure what it does, though...

PD: I found what it does. I stumbled upon Edmund, and promptly ice imps and the like began to spawn around me, and pummeled him for me (well, I helped casting pain from a safe distance). I think this thing spawns fiends free of charge whenever you are faced against anything remotedly tough. Really cool

I hope one day the devs will give some love to the demigod too,
In their nerfing spree, this character is basically useless.
Not only it feels like playing a human because it has no race ability, just with slightly better stats but it has the immense disadvantage of not being able to get any deity worship and because apparently it was not enough, he is getting even slower experience than nearly everyone else.

One of the less interesting races to play because it is simply not fun, unlike his supposed evil version the hellspawn that has got so many abilities, mutations and other kind of fun advantages that it is always nice games with it
.
I read a few suggestion on how to improve the demigod race, and they're very interesting, would make the demigod really fun to play :

Here's a shot: how about, instead of having demigods choose no religion, they start with a random religion, and cannot leave it, or get excommunicated, but punishments still apply?

EDIT: I like that suggestion you linked better. Sounds more old greek heroes-style epic.

EDIT #2: someone had the same idea as I did

Here is some more brainstorming from https://crawl.develz.org/mantis/view.php?id=1727: - As demigods they should be able to have a stronger connection to a God than another mortal. But, you could make it so that the God is randomly chosen at “birth” (as the deity that sired you) and cannot be renounced. Perhaps piety would increase a little more quickly, but also be punished more strongly for transgressions.
