Hehehe.

By the way - while zombies and skellies can't descend, would it be possible to carry a bunch of skeletons downstairs, drop them THEN animate them?
I thought about trying this earlier...but haven't played any Necros since.

Yes you can. Its worthwhile, but really only early on. HOWEVER, if you can get a fresh ogre corpse down a stair with his club, you'll have a beatstick that will last you an entire level. Those things are NASTY.

Oh yeah, Ogre zombies are pretty awesome.  Hydra zombies aren't bad either, heh.

Yeah. Really, any zombie that wields a weapon is nice. Small Gnoll zombie armies are fun.

Edit: Thrice Sigmund it. I managed to pick up a slow deterioration mutation while training my necromancer skill with animate dead. BAH.

Oh yeah: I feel like posting my stupidest death ever here.

Sludge Elf Transmuter.  Picked up a potion.  Drank it.  It was... a potion of rotting.

The final point of rotting (reducing my hp to 0/0) got an "Ouch!  That really hurt!" message >.<

I think it's when it's over 50% of your max hp.

The one point of damage it did to me was indeed over 50% of my max...

Does Recall Orcish Followers bring you followers from different levels? Say one gets lost somewhere and I go down some stairs, can I recall him from there?

And if not, how can I make sure that all of my orcs follow me up and down stairs?

Don't know about the first,
but anything standing next to you will follow you down the stairs.

Besides undead.

But when there are more than 8 and they're all just sort of clumped up, as in filling my entire field of vision, will they all come down at once? I know that more than 8 will come down, but I haven't actually counted yet. I should do that.

The problem is that basic orcs will quickly be dropped by anything. You need a few good orc warriors, backed with one or two wizards and as many priests as you can get. Smite targetting makes things fun.
