I played an merfolk chaos knight revently.

Every now and then wall around me turned to glass, everytime with an even bigger radius.
What the hell was that?

So. I started a demonspawn chaos knight of Lugonu, with polearms. My original intent was to take Siggie's scythe and endistort it with Lugonu's ability. Because hot damn that would be awesome. Anyway, I'm starting to have second thoughts about this plan, since I've heard that scythes aren't actually all that great as weapons. Am I seriously impairing myself by not swithcing to swords? Because I've seen a couple of orcish falchions around and I suppose a longsword of distortion would also be pretty sexy.

Also, I have very little idea how to use my Lugonu abilities. The blinking is okay for throwing poison darts at ogres, but the pain limits its usefulness.

Scythes aren't very good. Polearms in general kinda suck in 0.6, except for demon tridents. Lugonu is a great god for getting runes fast.

-When going after the orb, you can use scrolls to reveal the vault then corrupt the back wall, summon (there's an ability that calls items to you) the orb, grab it, and immediately warp to the abyss, saving you that ridiculous fight. From there, I believe leaving the abyss will dump you outside the vault.

It got nerfed.  :(

It is literally the heaviest base armor in the game, 14 AC, even better than gold dragon armor. And it only has -8EV instead of gold dragon armor's -9 Unfortunately that doesn't help when an ogre smacks you for double your HP in damage.

Meh, it's too heavy and resistances are more important than AC.

So finding it on D3 you would not wear it instead of your +2 chainmail?

And my demonspawn was killed by a orc warrior. I'm sad, since I'd managed to get a random mutation of carnivore. :(

I managed to kill one orc warrior, and got cocky. Tried to kill another. It cut my health real low, and I tried to run away, but it managed to hit me again anyway. Stupid movement randomization. >:(

...Eveningstar of Holy Wrath...

This weapon is incredibly powerful. Even a vorpal hammer will probably do less damage than the Eveningstar just because it's an Eveningstar. Enchant this puppy out.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

No. I only use ring mail, scale mail and dragon armors. I prefer being able to cast a few low level spells. Crystal plate mail is extremely heavy, has no resistances for the end-game, and it literally takes forever for it to stop causing you to whiff most of your attacks.

God damn it. Last five or six attempts to go through Orc (been savescumming) I go down a flight of stairs and immediately get paralyzed by an Orc Wizard, or whatever the guys in red are. After sitting there for damn near forever without being able to do ANYTHING, I'm dead. Balanced my ass.

If i remember well, the orc in red robes are Orc sorcerers, they are a very powerfull enemy if you can't kill him quick enough once they appears.
Not only they can get your paralysed if you don't have enough magic resistance, but they can summon demons.

Don't look down on them because they are orcs in robes ;) there's no shame if you don't have a high level character yet to fall in front of those sorcerers.
Same as Orc knights that are more powerfull versions than the already very strong orc warriors (that can usually kill a warrior type of character easily one on one if you are level 10 or less).

And if you see a named Orc "Saint Roka" , run away if you can't defeat orc sorcerers, Saint Rokka eat level 14/15 warriors for breakfeast on close combat and can smite you in the same time.

Good news! There's going to vaults for Lair! Specifically, there's going to be Lair 8 ending vaults. So, logically, Lair needs some really nasty enemies for a really nasty vault with really good loot. Sure, there's Death Yaks and Oklobs, but those aren't enough. Wanna know what they added?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

0.6 is going to be fun. No more easy Lair for you!

Usually people often do Lair first or second, meaning they are not that high level.

So death yaks are usually a very big challenge against the character you have when you saw them (as on top of being player killers they come in pack).

If there is now significantly more dangerous monsters than death yaks, the new Lair 8 loot in 0.7.0  sure have to be very good to motivate a character to go there.

My problem with sorcerers isn't that they're dangerous, it's that I go downstairs and immediately get paralyzed and beaten to death. Nothing wrong with losing a confrontation that you should have known better than to enter. Valve put it best in their discussion about the Sniper - nothing frustrates a player more than dying to something they couldn't control.
