I finally found the temple, but the entrance is guarded by an oklob plant. I'm kind of afraid of attacking it with my lithe spriggan frame. There was a kobold den on this level, and those big kobolds were really tiring to dispatch. They took lots and lots of hits to go down, and pelted me with darts whenever there was any distance between me and them. On the plus side, I have about seventy poisoned needles now, which is one resource less to worry about.

Ouch. Wow, I thought Oklobs couldn't appear until around Lair.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Placing one so you have to walk through its FOV to get to the ecumenical temple certainly feels like a textbook Dick Move. :)

The staircase and the oklob are both ringed by regular plants, so it's not a threat unless I want to get a religion for some reason. I haven't dared to try to get past it yet, the things seemed pretty powerful when I was creating them with my Fedhas powers a few games ago.

Assuming you're seeing the monospace font right, the setup looks like this:

How often do the blasted things fire, anyway? If I cut the plant directly south from the stairs, I'll only have to move through two squares where it can see me.

EDIT:
After a bit of wandering around in the Orcish Mines, I could finally afford the stupid lajatang.
the -2,-5 lajatang of the Dungeon {slice, MR}
This has been a complete waste of time.

Fixed....use tt tags.

Ah, I see. I did not know of this "tt" tag.

Not that it matters anymore, I swiftly ran into the temple and came back with divine patron. Now I'm a Cardsharp of Nemelex Xoheb, and these decks are fun indeed. My main problem right now is that my inventory is full. Out of letters. I should really go stash some of this stuff somewhere, but I've been putting it off. :)

I found a dagger of speed, and it feels like time stops every time I fight something. I also happened upon a stone of earth elementals, which seems to be quite an interesting device. Initial testing shows that summoning elementals leaves holes in the wall, and the hostile elemental was too slow to be a threat in an open area. You could dig with this thing if you had to. And I just found a book of geomancy, so I think I'll be training earth magic, spell hunger or no.

Oh, and I accidentally sacrificed all my remove curse scrolls to Nemelex. I've inscribed some of my inventory since then. :)

How does inscription work anyways? I can't find any information on it, only that it's required for certain things.

It works by pressing {.

Items marked "!p" cannot be sacrificed to Nemelex, apparently, so I guess it's a good idea to do that to stuff you want to keep in case you accidentally drop it.

Is there a way to take a screen shot of an online game? If so, what folder do they appear in?

Press Print Screen on your keyboard, and paste it somewhere.

Since the terminal window contents are just text, you can copypaste them elsewhere, although this loses any colors you might have been using. Pressing the "print screen" button copies your whole screen to the clipboard, to be pasted as a new image to an image editing program of your choice. There exist many applications for taking screenshots of only one window or a small area of the screen, but I can't name any reasonably compact ones.

I'm trudging through the Snake Pit, and getting my ass handed to me by the stronger critters on level five. I think I'll go elsewhere for a while. Maybe get another legendary deck of summoning. I should try to get some corrosion resistance before going to Slime, right? I can fly, is that enough preparation for Shoals?

There was a named Efreeti (Azrael? Azazel?) surrounded by fire elementals on Snake:3, and I was like ONE SQUARE away from stabbing him in his sleep when a naga woke up and started shouting. Maybe he'll go back to sleep if I'm away for long enough.

They generally go back to sleep in a bit.

BLUH! Killed by a merfolk aquamancer in Shoals:5 with a shard of ice. 53 damage. No way I could have survived that with my spriggan stamina. I didn't know that mermages were that powerful, although perhaps I should have guessed.

Well, with 74443 points, this was still the best game I have ever played. And Nemelex is a definitely a pretty cool guy.

I noticed that my dagger of speed was having less and less effect against the stronger beasties. I'd still hit about three times as often as they did, but often to no damage. I suppose the enemies start having so much absolute damage reduction that the tiny knife simply doesn't cut through. I suppose I might have done more damage if I'd bought the book of war chants I saw and used it to power up my unbranded starting dagger. Or switched over to long blades.

Hmm. I'm trying a Spriggan Artificer of Nemelex as well now.
I'm only about 8 floors down in the main dungeon, and I already have:
Poison resistance and magic resistance as mutations (no negatives!) from drinking an unidentified mutation potion
A randart +7 +1 vampiric sabre (plus another good randart sabre with poison and +stealth +MR)
A +1 cloak of preservation
A +6 ring of protection

And four decks in my pocket, including a legendary summoning deck.

And yet...why do I have a strange sinking feeling.
