Equipment is overrated, the only thing you need is books and bat form.

That doesn't mean I didn't cherish that +2 +2 Dagger of Freezing and +2 elven robe of magic resistance.

My second best akrasiac character so far is still going strong. Started out as a High Elf Conjurer (HECJ? HECO?), but got a bunch of fancy enchanted equipment early on -- including a ring that just randomly berserks me when I melee, which is occasionally. I've got Mephitic going strong, and Magic Dart and Frost bolt down to no hunger at all. 9 AC and 14 EV, which is good for so early in the game on a mage.

The game tells you this in the spell description!

Throw Icicle in 0.8 is only 25% resistible by rC. In 0.9, they nerfed it a bit, so I think only 60% or 40% of the damage is irresistible.

Well, it probably would have ended up killing me, but it didn't -- and Oklob plant destroyed me, 14 AC and all, in three hits. Carelessness. siiiigh

I thought that I could kill it. Poor, idiotic me.

In other news here's the save. I forgot it wasn't a ring that zerked me; it was a mutation. Had I gotten much further I probably would have realized that zerking cutting off my spell access is NOT A GOOD THING.

Seemed an awful lot like three consecutive spits per turn. But anyway, I just fired off three consecutive spells and I went from full HP to none. That's how I'm measuring it.

EDIT: No wait, I spent the last turn going to other direction. Still 3 turns, though.
