Choke points are death in the Slime Pits, and yeah. Open spaces are a must if you're a summoner.
Well, you'd probably work that out for yourself when the walls start burning you :P.

It's definitely at the top of my "things that should be removed from the game as soon as possible" list.

I don't mind the slime walls. It actually makes the slime pits tactically interesting in a unique way, and the damage they do isn't too over the top.

I hate you, short berserker duration.
You made me lose one of my best characters so far. (Which compared to many others, is just a puny weakling, considering I'm new to this game.)

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I went down a level and an ice beast next to the stairs one-shotted me. Hate the RNG.

Ice beasts are really nasty for when you find them, especially when you consider they are immune to ice and I think poison. Crawl does have a bad habit of early, fairly strong monsters that have resistances/abilities that screw up certain characters abilities, venom mages and ice elementalists with ice beasts and undead (though undead versions of regular monsters are generally quite weak. Phantoms aren't though) for example.

At least with tough monsters later on you have wands, potions and scrolls acquired and identified plus a chance to diversify your skills. By the time you meet some monsters (and of course some uniques like sigmund or one of the usually weak ones with a wand) there's nothing you can do if you are unlucky.

I really love Demonspawn. Not because they're powerful. They're actually pretty mediocre overall, even with demonic heritage gifts. But I love seeing the different abilities that you end up with. I just got one that gives me _sick_ regen whenever I'm standing near corpses. If I can get a swarm of guys in a hallway, I get a few % of my total HP back each turn. It's awesome, I wonder if it scales to the # of corpses.

Just lost a troll monk of Nemelex, because I got a deck of wonders and wanted to get an experience card, but got a wild magic card instead, summoning a hostile demon. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Why yes, yes it does. Getting that mutation is all by itself a good reason to drop whatever god you have and pick up Kiku.

I think Draconian berserkers are "my" character, as they are now my 3 top scorers. The bonus AC is nice since you'll be wearing animal skins most of the time anyway and breath attacks help compensate for Trogs lack of ranged support.

The power only kicks in when you actually kill something; just dropping corpses won't work.

Does it stack with Mahkelb's power?

The one where you get piety from killing? Yes. The regen always run out long before the corpse rots, too.
