Low HD monsters have pitiful MR while even mid-level players have pretty good MR. High HD monsters have ridiculous MR, however.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Just got my first rune.

I can't work out how to save a character dump on a Mac - it's supposed to be #, the standard way to do this on a Mac keyboard without this key is Alt-3, (worked in this post...) but in Crawl it just comes up with 'command not recognised.' Even if I plug in a normal keyboard, the # key is interpreted as \ and I still can't get my chardump.

Any ideas?

Anyway, lvl 18 Grey Draconian Transmuter got the rune from the swamp after killing the Lernaean Hydra.

Agnes.  Gah.

Snaps out of confusion, stops retreating, closes the space between me and her and double hits in the same move?

*sympathy.*

Also, fucking overpowered latajang. Any encounter I've had with her, she's always been wide aware of me, and right near the stairs I used to get in. Bitch can close the distance and kill me even before I can get out of dodge.

In the next version Agnes is going to be a spriggan.

I don't think player spriggans can even wield latajangs, can they?

Isn't she already fast enough?

She's faster than a Spriggan, I can tell you that for a fact.

I even managed to stab her in her sleep and she STILL wouldn't die (and healed and attacked in the same turn).

Sometime the random generation of monster groups in Crawl really is insane :
It all began with a simple green drake appearing on the map border, shooting immediately noxious gaz that confused my character, and after 2/3 turns, here is what i had in front of me.

Can't believe i could survive enough for confusion to wear off and read the last teleportation scroll i had.
And can't believe i even survived until the teleportation actually occured, good i was playing with a fighter that then have more than a hundred of health (though i was down to under 10 health when teleportation kicked) , otherwise that kind of monster group would have killed him in a turn or two.

Yes, but unfortunately that was the only branch i could hope to do currently, having already cleaned Lair, Orcs and Hive (found and cleaned an ice cavern too) and the other available branches are more difficult.

I had to retreat from this branch for this obvious lack of poison resistance reason and am back into the dungeon, hoping to find anything that could help to resist that confusing annoyance but so far nothing good and no shop out of a food one is around.

There's the entrance to Vault, but i'm not confident in my character survival in there.

I never find RPoison before Swamp either. Though I haven't tried doing Hive before it. I figured I can get a swamp drake hide down in the Swamp and then go to Hive, but maybe it's better to just get more exp in Hive before doing Swamp.

After having read about it, I'm now curious - what was "Glamour"?

EDIT: Hmm, a +2 mottled dragon armour of card tricks (rF++, Int +3, Acc +1).  The int bonus seems to wipe out the evasion penalty, which seems small, considering how much of an AC improvement it is :P.

S'only two more base AC than leather. Probably the best casting dragon armor is steam; it's got no EV penalty at all and still gives an extra AC point vs leather, matching base ring mail. Nice robe of resistance (or useful artifact) is probably preferred, unless the dragon armor's enchanted or an artifact.

That's a pretty solid piece, though. rF++ is nice. -1 EV isn't really noticeable re: casting success, in my experience. Can usually get away with ring mail (-2 EV), too, if you resistance needs require it.

re: Glamour -- according to the knowledge bot "An ability grey elves recieved in old versions of crawl at xl 5, it tried to confuse, paralyze, charm, scare nearby humanoids. Sucked."
