How do you export the whole character file like that?

During the game press the # key.
The message "Char Dumped Succesfully" will appear.

If you play offline, it will create a nameofyourcharacter.txt in the morgue folder.
If you play online on CAO, it will create the file there :

A sacrificial or artifact pair of boots, gauntlets, and helmet, as well as an artifact or +5 damage or better weapon. rCorr would help a ton for damage reduction and helping out anything that isn't immune to corrosion. rMut would be very helpful if you want to avoid gaining a bunch of bad mutations. A source of digging to actually get the loot. rN+++ would be good for swapping in case you get banished from a Zot trap. Oh, and probably 7 or 8 more levels so you don't get mauled by the Royal Jelly.

EDIT: Fuck, you know what to do. Just stop trying to learn spellcasting. GDA casting penalties are ridiculous.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Actually seeing unseen horrors only matters if you're out in the open.

The RNG (or Xom) <3s you more than it <3s me. :) Orc wizards going invisible? No prob. Sigmund? No prob. Anytime I get a good character who's sole major flaw is no see invisible, I'll always get a fast invisible critter to ruin my day. I've gotten paranoid to the point where I teleport out of dodge as soon as that first hit lands on me.

Just cleared the Tomb for the first time. Holy crap! The loot! People said 'Tomb has good loot'. No one told me Tomb has fricking unbelievable loot!

I have officially moved into the 'being a necromancer is awesome' phase. It's pretty easy to clear the Crypt and Tomb if you worship Kiku. And since I found the Necronomicon on my own, I had Kiku make me a +7,+9 demon whip of pain. (I am a demonspawn, so I even get a bonus for using a demon weapon.)

On the other hand, the much-vaunted torment resistance isn't very reliable. Certainly not reliable enough that I want to ever cast Symbol of Torment myself, or use that Sceptre of Torment.

Edit: Now level 27, and have cleared much of Zot:5. Still no distortion weapons. I've scoured the dungeon. I guess I'll work on Slime and Hells next, since I don't want to go to Pandemonium without a good way out.

Started playing a Dark Elf Reaver today (I really like that combination; decent survivability early on, with powerful magic later in the game). Got through the first several levels, found the Temple, decided on Vehumet. Left the temple, went downstairs and ran into Sigmund again. But wait! This time I'm prepared! This time I have... Mephitic Cloud!

Code: [Select]
Sigmund Shouts!
You miscast the spell.
You feel  slightly ill.
You miscast the spell. Wisps of vapor drift from your hands.
You miscast the spell. Strange energies run through your body.
A puff of flame hits you!
You miscast the spell.
Sigmund drinks a potion. Sigmund seems to grow stronger.
You miscast the spell.
A magic dart hits you.
You miscast the spell. You feel electric!
You miscast the spell.
...

Crap. Out of MP.

I turn tail and start running. Then I get:

Code: [Select]
You feel confused.
Double crap.

Code: [Select]
Sigmund flickers and vanishes!
Triple crap.

Code: [Select]
Ouch!
Ouch!
A magic dart hits you.
Ouch!
You feel less confused.
A puff of flame misses you.
There is a stone staircase leading upwards here.
You climb upwards.

...

I'm not sure if I'm more surprised that I miscast 7 times in a row, or that I actually got away from him after such a bad run of luck. It's not like Mephitic Cloud is a difficult spell either: I have a Good chance of casting it.  Either way, I decided that was the game's way of telling me it was time to go to bed, so I saved and quit.

Oh, I meant in the situation described earlier. Low EV and low AC characters have much to fear from unseen horrors. They're just easy with good spells and a corridor, that's all.

My level 9 mottled draconian venom mage just got killed by an ice beast which got enraged by my staff of chaos.

He was my most favorite character...

staff of chaos.

I found the problem you had :P

Seriously though, those things are death traps. Only use if sincerely desperate. I'd honestly rather be using a distortion weapon -- at least those can only screw you over at a set time and they've got a chance to semi-insta-kill (Banishment). Chaos only does a random brand and occasionally hits the target with something violently dangerous... for you.

"Whack. You deal no damage. Troll is enraged! R.I.P."

I just find random event quite charming.

Nothing is more exceting than living on the edge.

wat

Why were you even meleeing an ICE BEAST? I think that explains why you lost the character if nothing else.

Do they have ice weakness?
I'm quite sure the wiki says nothing about that.

Ice Beasts are fucking hardcore in melee, and can even challenge Troll Barbarians. Draconian Mages are not.

I've bested several of them in melee without any major injuries.
Only thing that screwed my over was berserk rage...
